Ruffled Keyhole Shirt

I never seem to get tired of finding new sewing tutorials for little girl clothing. How could I when there are so many creative ideas to choose from? One of my favorites is this Ruffled Keyhole Shirt that Jessica from A Couple of Craft Addicts made. Jessica and her partner Heather are always coming up with new projects like Picture Coasters, Holiday Card Display, and the Isabella Dress. Today Jessica will take you through each step of making this adorable shirt. Her inspiration came from this beautiful ModCloth dress.

I just love it. I love the neckline, I love all the embellishment details around the neck and hemline. I love the color. I was so inspired by this dress that I decided to make a similar top for my daughter. I wanted to try something new. I wanted to push myself and my machine. I have not sewed much with embroidery stitches so this was the perfect project to experiment.

GIVEAWAY: Draw the DC Universe and Stamp Art by KLUTZ

Looking for a cool new gift for your young artist at home? What about a gift for someone who loves Superman, Green Lantern and the Joker? When I received these two new books, Draw the DC Universe and Stamp Art, I quickly found myself testing out my artistic skills. Draw the DC Universe is great for beginner and advanced artists because it walks you through each step of drawing the character from a stick figure to a full detailed drawing. Check out this video and keep reading for a sneak peak inside this Draw the DC Universe.

This book is a complete how-to-draw package, jammed with expert tips and techniques, tons of practice space, and of course, a universe of DC heroes and villains. The draw-right-in-it book comes with everything you need: a sketching pencil, a drawing marker, artist’s pencils in six colors, a big block eraser to fight crimes against the page, stencils, and translucent overlays scattered throughout for can’t-fail tracing activities.

Stamp Art is also bursting with creativity with over 60 stamps to choose from. I loved that all the stamps are mostly just different shapes and your imagination has to do the rest. KLUTZ gives a bit more detail on just how to use this book to its full potential...

Stick the included shapes on the see-through acrylic block to create your own one-of-a-kind stamp design. Full of inspirational artwork and instruction, this stamp-right-in-it book shows how to create animals, flowers, houses, aliens... anything you can dream up.

The best part is that KLUTZ is giving away both Draw the DC Universe and Stamp Art to two, yes two, lucky winners. Keep reading to see another new KLUTZ release and to find out how to enter for the chance to win Draw the DC Universe and Stamp Art by KLUTZ.

The Prize: The new Project Runway™Limited Edition  5234PRW is the first serger to be introduced into the Project Runway collection of machines. This new serger will add a professional look to  your next project with serged seam finishes. Garment seams lie flatter and look better with an overlock stitch. Plus, home décor projects often suggest the use of a serger for rolled hems and secure seams and differential feed. Choose from a 2, 3 or 4 thread look and enjoy the new easy one-touch needle threader for threading two needles. The 5234PRW  features two needles with a differential feed ratio of 0.7 to 2.0 for  improved stitch quality. Create stitches from 2.0mm to 4.0mm in length  and 5.0mm to 7.0mm in width. The included large extension table adds  extra space for handling large projects and the free arm makes it easier to sew sleeves, trouser legs and other hard to reach places.  For more details on this luscious sewing & embroidery machine and its wide range of crafty capabilities, visit Brother US.

How to Enter: Simply create a Christmas stocking using knit/jersey fabric in some capacity. The entire stocking must be made by you and be your design. You are welcome to use the Prudent Baby Christmas stocking tutorials. The project has to be a new project created specifically for the contest. Take pictures of your entry. Email the pictures (at least 500 pixels wide and under 1mg) to contest@prudentbaby.com. We will select one winner to take home the Project Runway™Limited Edition  5234PRW Serger based on the judges' love for their creation. Our scoring system will give 25% weight to each of the following: Originality, Style, Worksmanship, and Presentation. The winner will be revealed on Prudent Baby the week of December 12th.
