FABRIC FRIDAY!

It's Frrrrrriday!! Fabric Friiiiiiday!! Don't know what that is? Sounds good though, right? The Friday afternoon mini-contest formerly known as Friday{Surprise}Prize will now be Fabric Friday!

When we were in Salt Lake City, we met with Cynthia from Fabricworm and had a little impromptu brainstorming session (see, we did work) and Fabric Friday was born. Our favorite comment on any post during the upcoming week will now win a YARD of fabric from fabricworm.

This week it's a yard of Laurie Wisbrun Pooches and Pickups, Pickup Trucks / Spring.
Sooo cute for boy-ness or perhaps for Father's Day? Clare just looked over my shoulder and requested a truck skirt. How cute would that be? See the entire Pooches and Pickups Collection.

Keep the comments coming! It's lonely here at Prudent Baby when we don't hear from the Prudent Mamas!

That fabric is adorable. Just looking at the print reminds me of the pickup my sister in law drove when we were in high school and the dog in the back looks like her dog now!! Plus my SIL just had a little boy last month and I'd LOVE to make something for her (well, actually my nephew) with this fabric.

LOVE the Pooches and Pick-ups fabric! My 4 month old son, Jones, would look mighty cute in something made from this fabric--and my husband's family is from a teeny-tiny town in South Carolina called Holly Hill, so he's pretty much destined to own a pick-up truck at some point in his life :)

Pooches & Pickups according to Urban Dictionary:

Pooch: 1) A mustache belonging to a person from Pakistan; 2) extra fat and/or skin in your lower abdomen area

Pickup: 1) One of great wealth and/or prosperity. Commonly an anonymous benefactor responsible for spectacular and bizarre donations. Will immediately demand the most expensive room in the establishment, even if it isn't the nicest one. 2) To get a phone number, to hook up, to make out with;

Ahh, this fabric brings back such wonderful memories. When my three siblings and myself were young, my dad had an old 1950 something Ford pick-up truck. On Saturdays in the summertime, he would load us up into the back, along with a dog or two, and carefully and slowly drive us to the local ice cream shoppe. It was a time even before seat belts and putting kids into the bed of an open truck was okay!

We lost Dad last year to Alzheimer's, but this print is a wonderful, bittersweet reminder of those carefree days.

Absolutely adorable!! I am 30 weeks pregnant with a little boy and part of my nesting has been trying to figure out how to craft something for a boy! With my daughter, I could just pop a bow or flower on something and call it good! I don't think that baby Jackson would appreciate that though... ;)

Oh I love this fabric! Blue pick-ups hold a special place in my heart. My gradpa died when I was 6 months to the day, and I think it was always to hard for my day to talk about him. However, he has always kept Grandpa's old blue pickup that was bought on the day I was born (May 24th - the truck is almost 28 years old now). For some reason my 2 year old is madly in love with the old blue truck - much more so than my Dad's new blue one. I'd love to make my son a pair of shorts to wear as a father's day surprise for my Dad.
