GIVEAWAY: SILHOUETTE DIGITAL CUTTING TOOL!!

THIS GIVEAWAY HAS CONCLUDED. A WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCE ON FRIDAY, OCT 1, 2010. THANKS EVERYONE! WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!

We are very excited! We have a Silhouette Digital Cutting Machine to give away to one lucky Prudent Baby reader! I've noticed these cutting machines before but never thought they were for me because I'm not a scrapbooker. But when the ladies at How Does She? contacted us on Silhouette's behalf about doing a giveaway and promised a Silhouette for us (well, one of us, thanks Jaime!) and a Silhouette for you (well, one of you) how could we say no?!? If I didn't like it... I could just send it back and never speak of it again. Well, let me tell you, I like it. I like it very much. And I've only just begun!
So far, my projects are simple, using the templates that come with the starter kit, but I'm totally smitten and ready to try more! Maybe even some scrapbooking!

Here is a gift tag that I made with some cardstock!

And here is a little pillow-box that I made with more of my favorite Martha Stewart Craft Paper

And then just to try something new, I did this spoooooky spiderweb window-cling in adhesive vinyl. Clare has already requested an entire Halloween scene in her bedroom windows!

Click here to find out how to enter and for two lovely offers from Silhouette!

The Giveaway includes:

A Silhouette Machine (a $299.99 value)
 Plus...
• Software for Windows XP/Vista, Mac• Power cable, USB cable
• 2 Cutting mats (one for thick media, one for thin media)
• One cutting blade
• $10 gift card to the Silhouette Online Store

To keep this fun and exciting we are going to announce a new way to enter each day until the giveaway ends on September 30th!

It's Thursday and the last day to enter for the chance to win. Just click on a few of our sponsors and/or advertisers sites and report back with something exciting that you find.... A product you can't live without? A hilarious post? A great grocery store coupon? Whatev's, let's just show them some love!

Click on up to 2 links and leave a separate comment for each! Thanks!

The winner must be in the USA and only one winner per household.
International readers, you know we love you!

The fine folks at Silhouette have also come up with two unbelievable package deals for Prudent Baby readers, but you must act fast...

My favorite piece of advice is #14 Appreciate the weather. It is one of the few uncontrolled experiences of nature you will have in the city. I'll be working on that now as we have excessive heat warnings where I live in the last week of September! :)

Thanks for the giveaway!

Ummm, I have to choose just ONE favorite piece of advice?? Well, then I hope this doesn't disqualify me from the giveaway, but I can't. I love that light-hearted advice, such as #260 (Sometimes you have to cry it out.) is balanced with serious, elucidated guidance, like #257 (Nothing can ruin your life like drugs.)

#259 Try to speak the local language. Yep, it's on the front page, but it is SO TRUE! I went to France with a tour group, but I was the only one, besides the tour guide, that spoke some French. Everyone else reported the French being rude, but I had no problem. I loved France and hope to one day go back :)

The first time I read through all the Prudent Advice I cried (maybe it was late at night and I'd had a glass or two of wine, but still...). I have a lot of favorites, but the one I wish my mom had told ME when I was a baby daughter is:

#48 When something tragic happens to someone you care about, make sure not to ignore them just because you don't know what to say.

and the one I am still working on for myself is:

#74 A simple "No, thank you" is enough.

but the one I love the most is the one about cheating, and I can't find it right now but it says basically, You're not a cheater, and you prove that by not cheating on anyone, ever.

Thanks for an awesome site and an awesome book.

The quote "Pay no attention to the line of impossiblity." is huge huge huge huge for me. I'm a photographer and my gear was stolen a few years ago. It was 15000 worth. It's a lot to recover from and often I feel like it is impossible. Thanks so much for the encouragement!

I really love the whole idea of Jaime's book, but I will choose Prudent Advice #244: If you don't have the money to buy an extravagant gift for someone special, bake! I just pre-ordered two copies of the book for both my mom and me, and I am really excited to read it to my 14 month old daughter as she grows up. My mom is a terrific baker and she has tried to impress upon me the idea of a gesture, of showing someone that you took the time to bake them something or make them something, which is so much more meaningful than buying something, and why I love this post in particular and what your gal's fabulous blog is all about!

I'm a fan of the tidbit of advice #242 Plan your first pregnancy. My husband and I waited until we were married for 8 years and we welcomed our little bundle of joy this past July. Waiting was the best thing we did..it allowed us to really know each other, travel, and for him to finish grad school. (Of course we did have to endure the endless question of, "Are you ever going to have kids?" :)

I really like this one "#250 Hold the door open.
Be the person who holds the door open, even if you have to stand there too long, and no one nods in acknowledgment. Be satisfied with the fact that you’ve extended a small gesture of helpfulness to strangers." I was at Taco Bell today leaving with my 2 year old and my baby in her car seat. A man left right in front of us and didn't help me with the door. Its so frustrating when I clearly need help and the person ignores that. I hope that I am one that holds the door and not ignores.

Okay, for Halloween my daughter, who will be a year old 6 days before Halloween, is going to be dressed up in a super hero costume and she'll be "Elora the Destroyer" (only, you have to say it with a Kennedy-esk accent so that it rhymes...like "Dora the Explorer" and if you don't know what I'm talking about you HAVE TO get a Brian Regan dvd or 3).

I'm not sure what I want to be for halloween yet! I never can decide until like a week before, or like last year, I whipped up a costume in about an hour :)

I like the tutorial on how to cut multiples...so useful.

My three little girls are going to be characters from "Avatar: the Last Airbender" (the cartoon, not the movie). They'll be Toph, Katara, and "girl-Zuko". My husband valiantly accepted their request for him to be Aang.

I'm head over heels for the onesie made with the printable heat transfer! I think I would become a onesie making machine...there are so many unique designs!
As for Halloween...I can't wait! Baby girl is going to be a strawberry this year! Mommy and Daddy are still undecided!

well the Pick Me Up tool looks like it could have a million uses. Like picking up stray pins. And I think you are trying to ensure my house never gets cleaned since I will be too busy using my new Silhouette! It looks SO fun!

My son(6) wants to be a whoopie cushion for Halloween and my daughter(8) a vampire spy (??) I also will have a firefighter(4) and a chili pepper (10 months). I will be going as a hot mess mama (which I am everyday!).

I love the idea of using the magnetic paper to create an everyday convenience like telling you if the dishwasher is clean or dirty.

My daughter was supposed to be 3 months old at Halloween so I decided that a snow cone would be a cute (and easy to make) costume for her. Unfortunately she was born still so I don't get to dress her up as planned. Maybe I'll still make her costume and put it in her keepsake box.

I love the magnant paper and frame tutorial. I also love the temporary tatoo paper, I would make a zillion of the same one and finally have a tatoo without the needles and cost, but no one would have to know I'm a complete wimp. For now Halloween will be two pirates, but I expect that to change several times before we settle on something. -Becky

Oh my gosh!!! I want a Silhouette SOOO BAD!!! There are so many things I would do with this. I would use it everyday for sure. I've had so many ideas of things I'd like to make but pushed the thought aside because precision cutting by hand (especially when you want multiple things cut out) just does not work for me. I can't tell you how happy I'd be if I won!!!!

Oh how I want that machine! I absolutely love the magnetic paper dolls. I have made a committment to myself to only give homemade gifts and these would be awesome since there are so many little girls in my life--including my own who will be a black kitty this halloween for the 2nd year in a row.

My little 3-month old daughter is going to be a "love bug" for halloween. aka, I got a ladybug costume from target and I'm gonna dress it up! :)

I have never seen the Silhoutte blog. THANK YOU for taking me there. WOW...the possibilities!!! I can ONLY imagine. While I do not have good luck above me, I congratulate the one who wins. What an AMAZING product, really. I would love to get my hands on it. The vinyl, the tags, WOW.

Halloween time: We always finger paint our pumpkins and cut ghosts out of computer paper. We try to get as crafty as possible, with our resources.

Thanks Prudent Mommy..I'm so happy I found you!!!
