GIVEAWAY: Custom Toy Portrait and Matching Stationary Set from First Friends Portraits

A custom toy portrait sounds genius, right? That's what we thought when we first heard of First Friends Custom Toy Portraits by Erin. As you can see Clare was absolutely thrilled when her portrait of "Mermaid" arrived. Here are a few words from Erin on how this ingenious idea came to be...

First Friends celebrates children’s love for their favorite toys. As a Yale-trained artist and mother of 3-year-old twins, I was inspired to create First Friends after painting portraits of my twins’ lovies. When they saw their toy portraits for the first time, they jumped around and screamed with joy….and thus the idea for First Friends was born.

In addition to custom toy portraits, First Friends now offers personalized stationary items featuring your toy portrait, custom portraits of children and pets, as well as gift certificates (Last minute gift crisis? Gift Certificates are a super fast and easy way to give a toy portrait as a gift - I can email you a gift certificate to print at home immediately after receiving your order).

Now that you know exactly who you would want to give a First Friends Custom Toy Portrait to, keep reading to find out how to enter for the chance to win a custom toy portrait and complete matching stationary set after the jump.

To enter for the chance to win a framed 6x9 custom toy portrait and a complete matching stationary set featuring the toy portrait (the set includes 10 notecards, 30 gift labels, 90 address labels and 100 calling cards) tell us what favorite toy you had as a child. Mine would have to be a stuffed manatee, named Manny (of course), that I still have to this day! For extra entries follow Erin on twitter and/or "like" the First Friends Facebook Page and leave another comment for each. For additional entries, tweet, stumble, or share the giveaway on facebook and leave a comment each time letting us now. Come back and leave a comment every day from now until November 21st at midnight. We will announce the winner here on Prudent Baby.

I never played with dolls or stuffed animals as a child, but my favorite toy was a set of 4 boxes that I would build things out of, or sit in (the biggest) and pretend I could fly! Damn, I miss those boxes...

I had a stuffed monkey named chimpy (turns out it was an orangutan, how was I supposed to know that?!) and my sister and I could play with pet shops for HOURS (the old kind that actually looked like animals, not the new goofy kind), but I think my favorite was probably the sets of horses I "collected" from birthdays & Christmas. They were so cool. Each set was a different breed with a mare and a pony. They are the one toy I wish I still had for my kids to play with.

I had a little mouse toy. I'm not sure if it was a mouse or bunny. Maybe a combination. It was thin and soft. It's name was Floppy It had a tiny rattle in it and boy did I love that thing to peices (literally). My parents got another one because I thought they threw away my first one and I was so angry. I found it in the hope chest a few years later and realized they just wanted to save it before it fell apart completely!

My favorite toy was my koala bear that the parametic gave me in the ambulance when I was 4 years old. I fell out of a moving car and splintered, crushed, and cracked my arm. I still have the bear to this day and my 19 month old has it in her room :}

When I was a toddler an elderly lady from our church made me a pink and cream teddy bear. It is not soft and cuddly unfortunately, so it has always been on a shelf, dresser, or in a closet for safe keeping. I may not have carried it all over when I was young but it is still a memory from my childhood. Most importantly it still reminds me of Mrs. Pearl and how friendly she was.

My favourite toy was my Princess Leia doll. (It was '79! I'm oldish.) but I loved my record player too - I had a wonderful classical Bambi record, it took me far away from where I was and deep into the forest.

I remember a doll named Kimberly (very similar to American Girl, but for 80s kids) with her roller skates and pink shorts; I loved her! I remember my mom cleaned her up , did her hair, and gave her a new outifit one year as a gift when we didn't have much money. I will always remember that! I wish I still had her to give to my girls.

I had multiple chests full of stuffed toys so my favorite always rotated. I did love my Paddington Bear and my Figment dinosaur from Epcot the most from the stuffed toys, but my Lego sets were my ultimate favorite toys. I think a portrait of Lego toys would be really awesome! I'm sure my future kid(s) will also appreciate it.

When I was little, I desperately wanted a cat. We couldn't have one where we lived nor did my mom want one. So she bought me this Siamese cat stuffed animal and I treated it like my pet cat. I loved it and played with it. One day our basement flooded and my toy cat got ruined. My mom tried to replace it with another cat and it just wasn't the same.

My littlest would probably flip over an illustration of one of his toys. He's a dino fanatic. Hard core.

My favourite was hunny bear. He is now 33.6 years old, his birthday is Christmas, I got him for my first Christmas.
He now sleeps in my little girls bed and looks after her. I am not allowed to take him away or she gets really grumpy. Thank goodness he is a good quality or he would have fallen apart by now.
