To My New Backyard (A Love Letter)

Back in May I asked you for help turning my patio into a place of relaxation and beauty (prudently). I gave you a whole rundown of the scenario and a bunch of before pics and you offered up fantastic suggestions that had me all excited to redecorate (or, umm, just actually decorate). Since then I've been diligently working away, parsing out my American Express Membership Rewards points to avoid spending cash and DIYing just about every detail. I can't wait to share my source list, show you how to build a pallet daybed (with arms!), block print your own fabric, make fabric tassel garlands, sew embroidered seat cushions, ombre dye bedding, and more. You can learn a little more about the elements on Design Sponge today too. But for now, I just wanted to share the transformation with you in this little time lapse video. I can't wait to hear what you think.

P.S. If you watch closely you can see me toasting the Prudent Mamas with a glass of champagne at one point. XO

P.P.S. That amazing song is by Twin Sister.

UPDATE: See the photo spread and source list here.

JAIME! It looks so amazing. I'm so impressed at your hard work. And video-making skills. Love it all.

ps. I didn't think there could possibly be another garland variation that wasn't completely played out, but I'm digging the fabric tassels.

Jaime! My patio is about half the width and probably a third of the depth of your porch. I soo want a pallet daybed, coffee table, room for my grill... and some shade! There is no roof covering for my back patio. If we beg nicely, can we get an early tutorial?

Pretty Please?? :-)

You did a wonderful job! What did I love most? The unbelievably simple idea for shade over the daybed. It was like a gigantic DUH! YOU CAN DO THAT! Super cute!

That deck is fantastic! I'm green with envy over here! That's just my kind of place. Our backyard is huge and barren. I need to show this to the hubs!

I wish I could move that fast... To think how much more I could get done each day (funny attempt) pretty neat how the pallet couch came together.
We have a nakie covered patio that needs to be dressed up.

Love today's Amy Butler Fabric, too
