BEST. CONTEST. YET.
Check out these prizes...eek!

Jaime's Machine - Limited Edition Project Runway Innov-ís 40 Sewing Machine

Named best machine in it's price range by Consumer Reports and is only available through sewing machine dealers. While you can get a great machine online, it really is a wonderful experience to go into a dealer and speak with them about what you want to do right away with your machine, and what you hope to eventually do as you learn more. Usually the shop will also offer you classes to get to know your machine. Oh, and prices are usually very negotiable in a shop.

Main Features:
  • Available at Authorized Innov-ís Dealers Only
  • 40 built-in stitches, including 5 one-step auto-size buttonhole styles
  • Stitch selection via dial and LCD
  • 7-point feed dogs
  • Free-motion stitching
  • Jam resistant top bobbin with Quick-set™ bobbin
  • Built-in needle threading system
Jacinda's Machine - Brother PC-420 PRW Limited Edition Project Runway Sewing Machine

I received this machine as a gift from my husband a year ago and I love it. It's a basic computerized machine. I'm constantly surprised by it's many features and many accessories including goodies like a walking foot!

Main Features:
  • 294 built-in stitches, including 10 styles of one-step automatic buttonholes and 3 lettering styles, each with 55 alphanumeric characters
  • Direct 10-key stitch selection and LCD screen
  • My Custom Stitch™ feature
  • Advanced needle threading system and automatic thread trimming
  • A built-in knee lift raises the presser foot in order to reposition or remove your fabric
  • Digital stitch length and width control
So are you ready to beat out all the other Prudent Mamas to win one of these babies? Stay tuned to find out how. Leave us a comment now and you could win a Kokka fat quarter. We're givers. With a little help from Brother, of course.

My son asked me last night if he could get his own.
Maybe I do need a fourth????

What an exciting contest!!! My first machine was a 70s relic and the one I use now is slightly newer, like 80s. Though it doesn't jam nearly as often as the first one, it would be nice to have a machine not as old as me (unless of course it were an antique machine that I had just to admire!!) ;)
A new machine would just make my YEAR!! And winning it would slap the cherry onto the cake! Thanks so much for the great opportunity!

I just recently found your website and immediately fell in love with all the tutorials and advice! It was great to find a website that can enhance my "sewing skills" or lack there of.. My husband and I are only in our 20's so I have been sewing for only a few years now and his wedding gift to me a couple years back was a sewing machine but not necessary a top of the line...more like a bottom. It does what needs to be done, but getting a new maching would be great!!!!My husband and I are expecting our first baby in April...and I've been enjoying making things for his room...I just love your tutorials!! Very inspiring!! Thanks for taking the time to make such a great website!

I'm drooling over these machines. My current sewing machine is around 20 years old, and there are days when it is constantly unthreading itself. I don't know how it does it, or why, but rethreading the needle and untangling the bobbin thread are not my idea of a fun time. :o)

I'm so bummed! I got a call yesterday from my local sewing center to tell me that my machine was not just broken, but that it was beyond repair. After having a moment of silence for my machine, I started researching the options for a new one. Only a few hours later, I read the post about this contest. I was so excited to be able to try and win a new machine! When I read the contest instructions in today's newsletter, I have to admit that I was so sad. Alas! I need a functioning sewing machine to enter the contest! Here's hoping that if another totally awesome contest comes in the future, I'll be ready and able to participate!

My mother was a sewer and father was a tailor. I grew in a household with two old-fashioned sewing machines and they helped us bring food for the table. I remember, mother would make tiny dresses for me while father would sew jeans for my brother in between projects with other people.

It's been 30 years. My parents both passed away already. Every now and then, I sew dresses for me and my daughter, using just my bare hands. I know I really need to get a machine for myself, so hope to win from your giveaway. I swear, if I own a machine, I will try my favorite DIY pieces that I saw from your blog.

Cheers for more dresses and masterpieces!

Love,
Mrs. Kolca

So, I've never owned a sewing machine and often DESPISED the idea of sewing. In high school, I took a sewing class where I had to make a stuffed elephant and ended up sewing the ears on backwards (oops!), but now that I'm a mommy I can think of SO MANY wonderful ideas I can craft up with a sewing machine. I'd like to redeem myself from the elephant scenario. ;)
