GIVEAWAY: Designer Notebooks!
When we were at Quilt Market in May, we were invited to Wiley Publishing's swanky book launch party for Sandi Henderson's Sewing Bits and Pieces, Anna Maria Horner's Handmade Beginnings, and Melissa Averinos' Small Stash Sewing. In addition to cleverly-themed cocktails for each author and an impressive Wiley ice sculpture, they had stacks of these super adorable notebooks for guests to take home. So cute right? One from each author/designer! And look at the lil' unicorn inside Melissa's! Well, guess what!?! We have a set of three to give away to one lucky reader.
Leave us a comment here telling us what would be in your signature cocktail and give it a fun name. Non-alcoholic works too! Share the giveaway on facebook by clicking "like" below, or tweet the giveaway, then leave another comment each time letting us know for an additional entry. Entries will close at midnight July 13th and a winner will be randomly selected.

I'd call it a "pina colada." Oh, that's already taken? Fine then. I'll call it a "Daycare is Closed for a Week Sangria" and it contains all the leftover fruit and all the leftover wine from from a weekend of houseguests.
Wow... there are so many readers named Jaime who love cocktails! Waaaaait a second...
hmm, i don't drink alcohol, so here's my virgin sparkling summer champaign: orange juice, gingerale, sprite, lemon slices, and fresh mint leaves.
Jill's "I think having this third baby may put me over the edge": a big shot of vodka. :)
OMG you guys. These all sound so good and your names are SO FUNNY. We are totally writing a Prudent Baby Cocktail Book when this is done.
Calm & Coffee : Half Baileys, Half Coffee, two squirts of chocolate syrup. Best when drank while hiding in the closet, while your husband wrangles the kids into bed for the ninth time.

hmm.. Jaimie's 'I Promise I Won't Spill This One'.. raspberry lemonade + vodka
The Moxie Martini...
Godiva chocolate liqueur, raspberry vodka, vanilla vodka, splash of cream...shaken (not stirred) and served in a cold martini glass. As a disclaimer, three of these make you feel all warm and fuzzy!
I just had to tweet about this!
http://twitter.com/MommyMoxie/status/17917823131
hmmm, let me see. Mine would be
"Back to bed, its Mummy time"
Double Baileys, single Kahlua, single Brandy poured over crushed ice ad a frozen raspberry.
YUMMMMM
paradise punch. It would have champagne, pineapple juice and grenadine. Very simple but very good.
I "liked " this giveaway on facebook.
My signature cocktail would be a mix between a Shirley Temple and a Cuba Libre (rum and coke). It would be made of cherry coke and Sailor Jerry's rum (it has a delicious cherry undertone) served in a tall glass with ice and plenty of maraschino cherries.
ps- those notebooks are so cute!!! I hope I win!
Pinkie's Punch- mint, cucumber, simple syrup and rum!
I liked it on Facebook!
I don't drink and don't even ever really make non-alcoholic mixed drinks, but I might start! I did make a nice iced tea the other day...we'll call it Garden Fresh Iced Tea. Black tea with mint and stevia leaves from my garden. It's very nice, a light sweetness with a little fresh minty-ness.
thanks for hosting the giveaway. i don't really drink, i do love sweets, so i would have syrup, coffee, and lots of cream in my drink, i would call it sweetie maybe.
i liked the post.
i tweeted http://twitter.com/syytta/status/17923263298
Mine would be called Tired Mommy and it would have fruit juice, real fruit, sparkling water, and a little bit of voka.
Mine would be the "finally finished nursing twins" cocktail-orange juice, cranberry juice and rum, served with a little umbrella (love those).
Hmmm perhaps a virgin pina colada - bring on the pineapple and coconut!

Lemon slices and Perrier !
Haaaaaaammm (Orange & mango) did you try it....i will try it now
"It's Barely Over The Rainbow"
Cranberry Juice, Raspberry, Strawberries, Vodka and Ice
♥
"Aah now I can relax" - Pimms No 1 with dry ginger ale over ice with some cucumber strips, lemon and a strawberry.
Laura's Love: Prosecco, Strawberries, Mint
Yeah, I'm pretty simple...Tanqueray, tonic, and a bunch of lime juice. Yum.
Since I am a July 3rd baby (aka Firecracker) mine would be the bomb pop. It consists of smirnoff raspberry, blue curaca, and lemonade. Pure yumminess.
My favorite drink is mock Lebanese tea - fill a glass halfway with ice, and then add half a glass of lemonade, half a glass of iced tea, and a dash of rosewater. Perfect way to refresh on a humid summer day.
The "I had a baby and can drink again" - A shot of Captain Morgan's rum. That's it. =)
No alcohol in my Lemonaid: with fresh squeezed lemon, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of sugar with iced water
My breastfeeding 'cheat' drink is a shot of cherry whisky, lemon tonic water (lemonade, or lemon lime soda are delicious too) served with cherries and a twist of lemon! Tastes incredible, and has low alcohol %. It's my favourite!
I have a new copy of Small Stash Sewing book by Melissa Averinos for sale on eBay for $9.99.

thanks!
p.s. This isn't spam! :-)
The "That's How Babies are Made" Special: Bud Light + red wine (alternate filling your plastic cup, drinking after each pour)
"That's how Babies are Made" Hilarious! I have my own version of this same drink but it has tequila in it. Oh and another version of this drink that has Red Bull and Mandarin Vodka and another that has champagne. But I've said too much.
cocktail? oh. it'd be called "baby is finally weaned": coffee laced with bailey's and grand marnier with a healthy dose of whipped cream and sprinkled with cinnamon.
ah, let's see... my sig cocktail would be a little sweet and a little spicy, like me :) maybe juicy, ripe strawberries and fresh basil... blended with lots of ice and a wee bit of lemon infused vodka. sounds delish, no?
How about the "I've spent 56 of the last 60 months pregnant/BFing and Mommy need's a drink real bad" cocktail; consisting of Malibu rum, pineapple juice, orange juice and ice.
Sounds divine right about now!
I actually already have a signature drink...my family calls me Kiki, and I have created a drink called the Kikitini. You add 1 part citrus vodka to 2 parts Limeade (Simply Limeade is best) and 1 part cranberry juice. Sugar the rim of a martini glass, shake, and pour! Yumminess!!

When I was in college, my roommate and I invented the "210 Slushie" -- Lots of Gin, Lots of Ice, Crystal Light Pink Lemonade (Powdered) -- combine in blender and DRINK. Not very classy, but it did the trick of hiding the flavor of cheap gin. :) (And we lived in room 210, thus the name)
I would say the mojito is my drink. Rum, simple sugar, ice and fresh mint!
Lately I'm into Sangria - Maria Sangria - wine, yummy looking fruit, lemonade, cointreau
Some of these are so hilarious! I love "No baby sister for you". I am still breastfeeding my 14-month-old so STILL no drinks for me, but when I do enjoy a bevvie or two, I'll freeze Mike's light hard cranberry lemonade in ice cubes, then crush 'em in the blender and dump 'em in a tall glass with some diet sprite poured over top to make it a little slushy, then maybe pop out into the backyard for a minute when no one's looking to enjoy it in peace on our back steps. Not looking at anything in particular: just sippin and kickin' at the dirt that will be a lawn. Someday.
We used to make something called Wild Watusis. (the origin of the name is rather fuzzy!) It's a non-alcoholic drink and it sounds really strange, but it's absolutely fabulous. Fill a glass with crushed ice, then Dr Pepper 3/4 full. Add some vanilla extract, a few teaspoons of Grenadine syrup, and then half-and-half to the top of the glass. DELICIOUS!
Thanks for the chance to enter -- these notebooks are FABULOUS!

This is called the my-husband-will-cook-if-I-buy-him Sangria. It's just your basic Sangria you can buy at the grocery store! So yummy. Especially with steaks cooked medium rare and a side of chips and salsa. Mmmm....
Frosty Asti
We love Asti, and I would add that and frozen strawberries. I don't remember what else is i in the concoction. There is probably something else.
ruthaw_1974@yahoo.com

Since it is so early in the day right now (8:44 am here), I will make my coctail virgin and have a "Grape Fizzy" with purple grape juice and ginger ale.
A mango and strawberry margarita... and I'd call it a strawberry-blonde margarita. (My hair color, of course!)
I call it the Super Ghetto: Sonic's Cranberry Limeade, Bacardi Limon, a little grenadine! Yum!
*liked* on Facebook also! :)
"Mommy Juice"- Orange juice, Pomegranate Juice, Ice, Margarita Mix, and Tequila! It's the perfect summer drink! I could use one with some chips and salsa RIGHT NOW!
And I liked you on FB!!!
Mine would be "Lush Slush"... A can of pineapple juice, two cans of frozen tropical fruit juice and a bottle of vodka, mix and freeze. Once frozen add two ice cream scoops of slush to a glass and fill with 7-up. Just remember to be careful when standing up.
Mine would be the Saigon Sunset: pomegranate juice, lemon juice, pineapple juice, vodka. Lots of ice. Because Saigon is WICKED hot and polluted :)
