Giveaway: "About A Boy" Pattern and Circa 50 Organic Fabric Set from Fabricworm!
How much do you want to make this adorable bag and hat? We are giving away one "About a Boy" Make it Perfect Pattern by Toni Coward and the fabric to sew the whole set with! This is the cap your boy will always reach for first. With adjustable velcro tags at the back, it won't going flying off his head when a sudden gust of wind blows and will protect him from the heat of the sun. The Satisfying satchel bag is made especially with boys in mind. The patchwork detail on the flap gives a bit of funk without going overboard. LOVE!
But that's not all! We are also including ONE FULL YARD EACH of these three AMAZING new fabrics from Monaluna for Birch Fabrics Circa 50 line to make your new pattern with:
We were lucky enough to see these fabrics in person at Quilt Market and we just fell in love with them! They are all-new, just-launched, hot-off-the-presses, and made with 100% organic cotton. The colors and designs are just so fresh AND boy friendly! You can check out the whole line at Fabricworm.
So to enter this giveaway, let's hear it for the boys! Tell us something awesome about a boy in your life...your son, your dad, your husband, the pool boy, whoever. I'll start: My dad loves pastrami sandwiches, egg creams, black & white cookies, and Mallomars. There's no deep insight here, I just think he has rad taste. Come back everyday for a new entry. Become a follower, share on facebook, or tweet the giveaway, then leave another comment each time letting us know for an additional entry. Entries will close at midnight June 9th and a winner will be randomly selected. GO LADIES GO LADIES!

My baby boy just learned to clap this morning. That's pretty awesome.
my son currently loves doing summersaults, kicking me and generally just hanging out in the womb. I'm enjoying learning more about him and can't wait to meet him and make him rad stuff like that bag!
SUPER excited to see some boy goodies. As cute as the girly stuff is, I'm a momma to two little fellas...so this is fun!
My youngest just started riding a bike and now when I try to take him off, he'll say "But I'm trying to check out my beautiful world!" in the angriest little voice. So cute! Here's a post about his first ride, if you want to check it out:
http://averyandwinslow.blogspot.com/2010/05/so-happy.html
My boys love playing with buckets of water in the backyard. :)
LOVE that satchel pattern! Thank you for the giveaway.
Wonderful giveaway! I've been trying to build an inventory of boy items and fabrics in my studio stash. My boys: Husband is an fantastic hard worker for us, and my son is a mini-me of me! but 20 and doing marvelously in his college career. -- michele
My one year old Hendrix loves to sit down and look through books all by himself over and over on the floor with his legs crossed. It's pretty cute. Also, he has a spiritual gift for wiping snot into his eyes and hair. Not as cute...
My 18 month old nephew is the most adorable thing in the world!! He can spend hours entertaining himself with a single balloon. If you tilt your head to the said and say "Am I cute?" he will also tilt his head to the side and give you the biggest smile ever. It totally melts my heart!! Thanks for a chance to win!

I tweeted about this giveaway!

My fiance is a math geek, he can recite, from heart, the value of pi to the 50th decimal places!!! I can go up to the 11th decimal places, and most people just know the 2 (3.14)!
I have two awesome boys! My oldest wants to build ships when he "grows up",cruise ships and Pirate ships! The yougest wants to be a dragon.
Posted the giveaway on facebook!
My little baby is about to turn two! Everything is wonderful about him. From the way he smiles to the way he talks! I love him!
My husband loves to Fly! Engines or no engines (gliders), give this guy a plane for the afternoon and he's a happy camper :D
lindsaynesler@gmail.com
I'm 7 months pregnant with a baby boy. His favourite wiggle time is when I'm relaxing at night watching tv.
My brother is graduating from college at the age of 35---after a lot of life in between high school and now.....pretty proud of that guy:)
My son is a bundle of energy that requires constant supervision and makes my life quite interesting - I'm sure he'd enjoy a homemade cap and bag. Thanks for the change to win :)
My boys love cars, trucks, airplanes and tractors!
I am also a follower!
My husband doesn't say much, so when he does, it is well thought out. My son is 22 months old, and already a ladies man. My brother can turn a quick anecdote into a 2 hour story. My dad is always there when me or my little family needs help (and that seems to be a lot).
and I'm a follower.
My husband makes a killer salsa :-). Thanks for the great giveaway!
The first set of friends to have a baby had a little boy named Niko. My first sewing project was a quilt for him, which I made last year. The neatest thing about him (I think) is that he can stand and take a step or two with assistance, but he never learned to crawl.
My brother has just started his own business and I'm very proud of him.
My son is amazing. He's only one, but he brings so much happiness to those around him. He loves bath time and being outside.
My wild little one-year-old Finn loves to play in the dog's water dish. Yesterday he ate some of her food, And enjoyed it.
My 11-month-old son loves giving hugs, and kisses the animals in his bedtime story goodnight. I swoon from the cuteness.
my one-year-old has started calling me by my first name. awesome that he can say it, said that we're on a first name basis!
and i'm a follower!
I love that my nephew gives me kisses then wipes them away and tells me...I wiped off you kisses aunt Cindy.
I am a follower as well!
My current boy (husband) always knows how to make me life. And my new boy (due in 4 weeks) loves to kick my ribs all day. It is amazing!
My husband is 6 inches taller than me but weighs 10 pounds less than me. And I'm not overweight, he's just very underweight. He has super metabolism. It makes me jealous.
my 3 year old son says the coolest stuff like yesterday we were at a community pool and he yells, "I just went potty in the pool!" just as a family of 6 were about to get in. Love him!
My eight month old...is just amazing! He is soo silly, every time I pull out my camera he gives me this smile/teeth showing with his held tilted back. I can never take a candid pic of him because he loves the camera soo much! Man I love him!
My dad loves all things cars!
Thanks for the chance to win!
My dad is really into golfing. I would wake up at 5 AM to go to the golf course. When he's not on the gold course, he would play "air golf", doing a few swings to practice when he thinks no one is watching. Someone is always watching!

And I am a follower!
My hubby is so wonderful...he works so hard so I can stay home with our daughter, and graciously allowed my dad to move in with us when he fell on hard times. He's a pretty great son-in-law too :)
I follow in my reader!
I have a 4 year-old boy we are trying to adopt, and one more boy on the way any day now. Our 4 year-old cannot wait to be a "big brudder!" Thanks for the giveaway!
I follow you in my reader and email! Can't get enough of you Prudent Mamas! ;)
I don't even know where to start on the topic of boys. I have 2 and they are the craziest, funniest, loviest creatures I've ever seen :) It's crazy hair day at school today, I asked Oldest how he wanted his hair to look..he said, completely deadpan, "shaved please. I want to be bald." I said "isn't that a little extreme for one day at school??" and he replied "I'm an extreme dude" LOL He's 6 going on 16...heaven help me! :)
My brother and his boys, there hands and faces are always dirty from working on the farm, it makes their teeth look extra white as that their faces are always filled with smiles.
My loving husband may finally listen to me about wearing sunblock, after have a really bad sunburn for three days. Maybe that will teach him.

My boy wakes up every morning singing "Happy Birthday"! Such joy~
And I retweeted to my followers!!
My son LOVES all things "boy"-- being active, trains, trucks, construction equipment! He keeps me on my toes!
I shared on facebook...and share lots of your posts on facebook. I LOVE it here!!
My nephew gets left out a lot on the handmade stuff. He has two sisters and two girl cousins so the girls get all the fun stuff. He's such a sweet (and wild) little guy. And an awesome big brother.
I have 3 daughters and 1 son. I have been making lots of fun stuff for the girls, and everytime I make something he always asks if it is for him, even if it is a skirt or dress. He is willing to take it even though just so that he gets something that I made. I have been looking for some cool ideas for him so that I can make it for him! This would be great for him!

Ooooh this is SO lovely! I am a new sewer and have a 15 month little boy. He is a little monkey and loves to climb up and down whatever he can. He is now learning to hold his own spoon (REFUSES to be helped!) and gets yogurt, oatmeal, etc everywhere...
He loves to carry things around, put things in bags/buckets, and I'd love to make this bag for him!
my boy (7) is obsessed about frogs, surfing, skateboarding, and inventing! love the mod fabrics - love fabricworm, too! elizabethlehman@hotmail.com
I'll be forever grateful to my Dad for introducing me to '68 Mustangs, Led Zeppelin, warm apple pie with a nice slice of sharp cheddar on top... and for insisting I start agressively putting money toward my retirement plan at 21, even though I thought it was a completely ridiculous notion at the the time..!
My (almost-born) son moves around even more than usual when I eat ice cream, and he seems to like Interpol. :)
My little boy just turned two. I was so convinced I was having a girl that when I discovered I was having a boy I had a panic attack. What would I do with a boy? Well, it turns out that I love being the mom of a boy. He is so sweet and so fun and we have great adventures together!

My dad played chess with me all the time when I was a kid!
THANKS! a few days ago I "caught" my 2 little boys (4 and 1.5 years old) shaving against the mirror, with shaving cream and all the funny faces. lovely giveaway, thanks again!
My son, Micah, just finished Kindergarten. At graduation he proudly declared he wants to be Iron Man when he grows up so he can fly around and rescue friends. That is pretty much my boy in a nutshell though! He is a dreamer and really doesn't see any reason why he can't grow up to fly. Pretty awesome.
My grandson, Micah, loves to garden with me. From the time he could walk, he was out in the garden, learning names of the vegetables and flowers, planting seeds, watering, pulling weeds. We have a favorite bench where we just sit and watch the hummingbirds. He believes I have a special hummingbird friend who comes to visit me every year. It is our special time and I love every second of the time we spend together.
I was SO freaked out about having a boy as our first child - I thought to myself, "What am I going to do with a boy? I don't know how to raise a boy??!!!"
Now, eight years later, I wouldn't change it for the world. I love how he looks up to his dad, but still comes to me for some loves, at least every once in awhile. :)
I grew up with all sisters, so learning to live with a boy (my husband) was to say the least... different.
One thing that caught me most by surprise was HOW MUCH THEY EAT! Salad for dinner just isn't enough. Leftovers... we never have them. And cookies... they don't last more than a day. :)
My son is getting the hang of crawling around and i find him in the craziest places if i am not keeping my eye on him. Plus his smile melts my heart.
My bub is incredibly smart, which makes me very proud! Funny comment he once made: I said, "P, I CANNOT believe you just acted like that!" He said, "Why?? I act like that all the time!"
My son is my special little guy. He loves to snuggle and read with me every evening. It's my favorite time of day. :)
I subscribe to your feed with google reader! Does that count ;)
What a great giveaway!
Our 3 year old little man's favorite thing right now is playing naked in the backyard in the wading pool & sprinkler- I really should at least make a hat for him!
My almost 2 year old son loves to cuddle. He gives the best hugs in the world and warms this mommy's heart :)
My husband went through lots of medical madness so that he could be present and a good papa to our little baby, due in Sept. I think that's pretty awesome, and I'm eternally grateful.
My son is currently into globes! He wants to know where places are that he's heard about from PBS shows and knows where to find Missouri! I'm really enjoying this almost-four-year-old curiosity.
My 2 year old son and I are trying to potty train I would love to make him this stuff as a prize for doing well! I am being very optimistic :)
I currently live in a world of pink with a nearly 2 year old girl. My husband has jumped right into the world of hairbows and priss, and has been a total champ. I do have plenty of little boys in my life to sew for though!
Already a follower. :)
I have a 3.5 year old boy...and boy #2 is due any minute! My son loves trains and penguins.
My 8 year old is really into science right now, which I think is totally awesome.

Gotta love boys!
My little boy just learned to say "motorcycle." And it's hilarious.
my big boy (hubby) had his first flight (he's a sexy fighter pilot) in the F15E strike eagle yesterday and my little boy (son) told me today that I had a "big bottom" - awesome!
my little man loves wet dog kisses, WATER!, and Mommy's jewelry. He is only 7.5 months but my favorite boy in the world.
Thanks for the post & giveaway. Love this site for all the awesome ideas.
My little brother can always make me laugh!

I have a dad, brother, husband, and 2 sons. But today I'll talk about son #1. It's been a rough toddler-hood, but the other day he calmly told his teacher a child took his toy, and he calmly asked for the toy back. And THAT is progress and frankly, pretty darn cool.
And I follow you, of course!
My 2 year old finally starting saying his baby brother's name. Too cute!
My husband is what I like to call a geek and I absolutely love him for it! He recieved his new computer monitor today and he was like a little boy openning his Christmas present, so cute.
My three year old loves playing ball, dancing, and finding roly poly friends. :) He makes me smile every day!
And I am a follower. :)
I have one of the bravest little boys in the entire world! He has a congenital heart defect and already has had his first open heart surgery, yet he is so spunky (and mischievous!) that you would never know. I truly wish I was as brave as he is.
great give-a-way! Loved reading about all these great guys and of course seeing such great boy things for grabs! :) In my house, I'm completely out-numbered: 3 beautiful sons (2.5 mo, 2.5 years, 4.5 years), a great husband, 2 boy dogs, & a boy cat...it's a great life! :) My oldest was born on Father's Day & my middle son's b-day falls on Father's Day this year...definitely makes the day a little sweeter. Thanks again!
My boy has luscious blond angel curls that I refuse to cut. People usually think he's a girl. I love that he paints himself with mud, hits things with sticks and is generally all boy, but still looks like a precious babe when cleaned up and snuggly. He's a champion snuggler, too.
My little man's favorite new "skill" is unscrewing caps on spice bottles... and then proceeding to shake them all over the place. Lots of fun. :)
I actually have a baby girl, but her "best friend" is a little boy that I have fallen in love with and think of like family. We call him Mr. Happy because he is always giving a big toothy smile. He is a big sweetheart and such a sensitive little boy.
thanks for the giveaway!

I made a pair of shorts for my 3yo son the other day, he wanted to wear them as soon as I took them off the machine. He slept in them and the next day when it was time to get dressed he insisted on wearing them again. When I had to leave a few days later he ran and put the shorts on right out of the laundry basket, he told daddy "I feel mommy's love when I wear the shorts she made me" I cried. :)
I have a house full of boys, Jack is 3 and loves swimming & cowboys, Will is 1 and loves watermelon & doing anything Jack does, Bettis is a labrador & lives for frisbee & their dad, Andrew is the coolest guy on earth according to all of us!

My baby boy just turned 1 on the first...and has started to walk around the furniture in the last few weeks more and more and terrorize his big sister. My hubby is the best 'cause he lets me stay home with the kids and supports my craft addiction, and loves his retro cartoons on Saturday. My dad has always been the best any girl could ask for, he's funny and he works hard even when he should be relaxing. He taught me to be 'me' and now that i am 1500 kms away I love him even more. And he is the best Grampie to my kiddies ever...I am sure as they get older he will let them get away with anything. These are the men in my life I will celebrate on Father's Day this year!
Thanks for the opportunity to win this giveaway!

My son Memphis begs me daily for a brother because he is tired of being "girl trapped" with three sisters! :)
My 3 year old son Elijah is such a neat little man. He makes me laugh on a daily basis and he has taught me more about life than many of the adults I know.
Likes: Star Wars, trains, chocolate milk, Star Wars, lightsaber fights, his dart NERF gun, Mickey Mouse, oh and Star Wars.
Thanks for the giveaway - I just started sewing and I'm obsessed. I'm sure my husband would appreciate me getting some FREE fabric!

My 3 month old son is always cheerful even when his big sister gives him "facials" i.e. rubbing his cheeks real hard. I bet when he's a bit older, he's going to give it back to his sister.
Thanks for the chance.
I have two special little guys, one is 8 years and one is 8 months. Both are such placid happy boys and I love them to bits!

My husband is the most talented songwriter I know! I love it when he writes songs for me!
my 2nd little guy is crazy about baseball! everything looks like a bat and a ball to him. he's only 2! i think his older bro could care less about baseball but he's trying to play -- at least it seems like he doesn't hate it.
My darling husband just had laser eye surgery, and he's been a great invalid. I'm so pleased (because he is usually such a whinger when he's sick!).
My 4 1/2 year old son (who dresses himself) went to school without underpants on yesterday...I was obviously not aware of this until he came home and told me!!
My boy is in my tummy right now kicking me & wanting to get out! 2 1/2 more months, baby!
Oh, this is just too awesome of a giveaway!
About my boy... My son, almost 2.5, is turning into a really awesome little man. And lately, he's been getting pretty excited that he's going to have a little sister. He tells everyone that he has a sister named Jillyboo (the nickname we've given the baby) and that she lives in my belly. He even likes to give her random hugs. <3
Tonight my 3yr old was laying in bed & said "Wuv you" without any prompting, then "Dad wuvs me, Grampa George wuvs me, I wuv Grampa George." I just about melted!!
My new baby boy Hewson just learned how to smile two days ago. It floors me.

My son has a great smile. :)
One of our children has high functioning autism and today he took his meds all by himself at school without any meltdowns. He's so awesome.
I had one of those Mom memory moments today when I saw my 24 year old (new college grad by the way!) talking to his Dad while leaning on the door jamb to his Dad's study. All of a sudden I was remembering that same boy at the age of 3 or 4 talking to his Dad leaning on the very same door jamb. My sense of pride and wonder at that moment brought tears to my eyes! Oh how I love that young man and his Dad of course!
We planned on having our first child as far from Christmastime as possible. He was due on February 5, 2010 but instead came a month and a half early on Christmas Eve! hahah - little stinker. He was in the NICU for a week and a half but is fine and is now measuring just as big as all the other kids born that day, too :) Yay for my baby!! :)

I am lucky to be blessed with two beautiful little boys. They both like to sing and dance and jump and skip and spin around in circles. Their favourite song at the moment is "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star". My heart melts every night when I check in on them before I go to bed. They love everything I make for them, and I am sure they would love the pattern and fabric on offer in this giveaway.

My hubby is the sole boy in a house of girls. For now, I'm the only one over 3 feet tall.... but I often wonder what will happen when our little girls become teenagers.... My guy and I will both want to run away! :) He calls us all "My girls" and is the best father ever. Right now he's out of the country on a business trip and we're missing him. (That will explain my super long comment!) Anyway, I've made stuff for my girls, my mom, my girlfriends, and myself. It's time to sew for the #1 guy in my life. If I win, I'll use this to make a CD holder for his truck. He's asked for one, but all I have is flowery fabric in my stash. That won't do at all.
Thanks for the chance to enter!

I keep drooling over that fabric stash! I always thought growing up that I wanted to have girls when I had a family, and when I found out I was having a boy with my first I thought I wouldn't have any idea what to do with one when I got him (LOL!) but the truth is my boys are WAY more snuggly than I ever dreamed they would be, and I wouldn't give up their 'kiss and a hugs' for anything in the world :)
My husband is handy! In the past week, he's finished seeding another section of lawn and installed the equipment we need to treat our water. The place would fall to pieces without him!

My little boy is a CHD survivor! That's awesome right there. He also likes to say, "Uh oh, spaghetti O's and meatballs!" And that kind of cracks me up.
