Eek!  Fresh projects!  To put those fabrics scraps to amazing use!  We are so excited to be giving away a SIGNED copy of Sandi Henderson's new book: Sewing Bits and Pieces: 35 Projects Using Fabric Scraps AND the four chunks of her beautifully designed fabric seen below (from her Meadowsweet Collection you can buy here):

We were lucky enough to chat with Sandi at her book launch party at Quilt Market, and we can tell you this is one creative gal. She was even wearing the gorgeous sweater pictured on the cover of her book:

Take a look at her booth from Quilt Market...see all that gorgeous stuff?? So much of it can be made just with fabric scraps!

This book is a delight, with fresh projects and lots of patterns. Can you imagine making yourself some cozy slippers from fabric scraps??

I especially love this dahlia pincushion:

Isn't having things in bits and pieces a way of life for us creative types? A whole tray of strips of paper that I'm rolling into beads. Pieces of fabric that I'm embroidering and will sew into a tote. And fabric that cut and ready to sew into the gathered clutch featured on noodleheads. Gues I better get to work!!

Bits and pieces - seems like everything - planned obselescence as things break right and left. We are always trying to decide if something should be fixed or trashed. Why are there no handymen anymore? We have let our 7 year old take our broken junk to the basement to take it apart - VHS player, DVD player, answering machine and microwave - and that's just in the last few months.....

Bits and pieces would describe lets see..
My memory. haha. But on a more serious note it would describe the relationship with my ex. Also known as Macy's dad. I can't stand him one bit. But he wants us to work out. There are only two things that let my sanity stay in lock. making the DIYs i find on prudent baby and henrys (the organic grocery store). I love the DIYs the most.

Between the 5 kids, husband, 2 dogs, 2 turtles, 2 birds, and my house, it would have to be my time. Definitely in bits and pieces. But it's good bits and pieces. Although.......I would like to take a big chunk of it and just work on projects like the ones in the book! Love the bright colors and patterns!

My hubby is heading out for a 2 week overseas business trip & I'm getting ready to take 2 toddlers on a 2 week Grandparent-spoiling-tour, so our house is in pieces! Also, I've got 2 quilts cut out to take with me and sew up, so there's pieces of fabric and quilt blocks everywhere....!

I'd really love a copy of this book. Thanks for the chance to enter this giveaway! If I don't win, I think this will be the treat I buy myself for driving the wee ones all over the place for 2 weeks. :)

Right now my patience is in bits and pieces. Our car (2004 Dodge Stratus- my favorite of all cars) was totaled like a month and a half ago (so I haven't been able to go ANYWHERE). We hadn't even had the car very long. Adam bought it for me with his tax money in February, and then BAM some blazer rams him in the back end which knocked him under a truck. He was okay, but the car I so LOVED was now MIA. We are still waiting for the insurance check to be in the mail so I can get me something else. Waiting bites the big one. ♥Jess
