Oh I just have to win this!!!

My most RECENT rainbow story happened 4th of July weekend. We had a strong but short storm come through Smith Mountain Lake (luckily we brought our wii to keep the kids entertained in case of bad weather). As the storm cleared and the rain started heating to vapor we literally saw a rainbow end in our back yard!!! No leprechauns or pot of gold unfortunately but it was soooo awesome seeing one of nature's most beautiful phenomenons up close and personal.

I was just admiring this shop the other day! So, my rainbow memory....the double rainbow craze was in full force last summer while I was pregnant, so while I was in labor last August and my husband was desperately trying to keep me calm and comfortable he brought the laptop over to the bed so I could watch the double rainbow video and remix :) It made me laugh for a minute at least!

Oh, that is so sweet!

Last summer my sister and I were taking a road trip with my three kids. I had to pull off the interstate to nurse my youngest after many stressful miles. Then I looked in the rear view mirror and saw the end of a rainbow. We turned the car around and all sat mesmerized (and quiet!) watching it until it disappeared. It was magical. If I won this, I'd save it for my sister's first baby.

Oh boy, I'm such a sucker for all things rainbow. I mean seriously who doesn't love all those colors looking so great next to each other. I used to pour out my bag of skittles, sort them into piles by color and then eat them in order. First red, then orange, then yellow...Yeah I was a nerdy kid, but my candy always lasted longer than my brothers'. HA! When I was in high school my favorite pillow case had a rainbow on it, I took it on the team bus all the time and got teased plenty for it, but I didn't care. My rainbow was cool!

What if my favorite moment includes that video? :) Just a few weeks ago my family and my husband's sister's family were at a double header. The second game got called because of rain. We had to make a mad dash through downtown OKC in the pouring rain to our cars with 4 kids-two of them babies. (A lot more fun than it sounds, actually.) If you've seen an Oklahoma storm in the spring, you know that it's a lot of intensity in a little tiny spot. We didn't have to drive far before we were at the edge of the clouds. My husband looks up to see a double rainbow and of course says, "Double rainbow!" But at closer inspection, it was a TRIPLE rainbow!! What does it mean??? P.S. I like how you call it The Facebook. :)

Gah, I have to win this! My baby girl is turning one this fall and I just started working on her rainbow invitations today :)

When I was younger I was in luurve with rainbows. I had some rad 80s rainbow striped sheets growing up, and of course I had Lisa Frank EVERYTHING (trapper keeper anyone?) and a Rainbow Brite birthday party. My 6th birthday my mom used a Wilton cake pan to make me a shooting star cake with a rainbow tail ;)

Rainbow memory... only one comes to mind but it's a good one. My husband and I were driving a moving truck literally across the country from Washington to Wisconsin.. we were welcomed to nearly each state with some new crazy weather - storms and snow (in June!) and lastly nearly a tornado in southern Minnesota. The moment we crossed over the bridge into our new home state, we saw a rainbow! We figured we must have made the right decision as Wisconsin welcomed us with a rainbow!

I was just looking at this site the other day and these mobiles are amazing! I would love to win one for my sister, who is expecting her first child! One of my rainbow memories is when my husband and I were dating. We saw a rainbow, and ended up driving to find the end of it - and succeeded (sort of)! Anyways, we're not millionaires now - there was no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Oooh I would love that! I'm pregnant with my first baby after years of trying so it would be perfect. <3

I've seen a double rainbow years ago when I was younger and it just finished raining. They were both beautiful and dark colored so you could see it very well. Another time I was looking up in the sky and around the sun I saw a full rainbow! It completely circled the sun and was so pretty. I was in elementary school at the time so I don't recommend looking at the sun like I did. lol

One of my mums best friends died a few years ago, naturally my mum was devastated but not long after the funeral my mum saw one of the most beautiful rainbows she had ever seen. She told me when she saw that rainbow she felt a peace she had never felt before. a few months later my mother and I had to make an important decision and soon after we made it the rainbow appeared once again. My mother told me it was her friend letting us know everything was going to be ok. I made me feel great that my mum had found peace and she was right, everything was going to be okay.

I had the ULTIMATE rainbow experience on the 01/01/2010! It was storming all of new years eve when I was in hospital, awaiting the birth of my first child. When I woke up it had stopped raining, and there was an awesome rainbow and the midwife said to me "Well, you may not find a pot of gold at the end, but it will be something very special"... and sure enough, my daughter was born on New Years Day, at the end of a rainbow :)
I'm now preggers with my second child, so a gorgeous mobile would be wonderful - I love the fact that there are some that are unisex - as we don't know what we are having but would like to decorate in unisex colours :)

I hope this isn't too sappy, but when I was 11 i lost my mom. Ever since, there have been so many special occasions where a rainbow would appear. We saw a double rainbow on the evening of our wedding rehersal. It laid exactly over the spot where we said our vows the following day. There was a giant rainbow outside the hospital window after the birth of our daughter, and another double rainbow on my 30th birthday. I have always found these little signs to be comforting, a sort of reminder that perhaps she is still present. We are expeting our fourth child in December and it would be so sweet to have this mobile over his crib as a constant reminder of her love and presence.

one of my favorite rainbow memories is from (don't hate me!) a movie--Pollyanna, to be exact. While cheering up the town, little Pollyanna ends up at this crotchety old miser's house and brightens up his day too--and she does it with prisms! After watching the movie, I wanted a bunch of prisms in my room! The prism room hasn't happened for me, but I still love that movie. Can't wait to watch it with my little one someday.

I remember in fifth grade I got glasses, and was so surprised to see that you could actually see individual LEAVES when you looked at trees. When I got home from the eye doctor that day, it was raining; my sister and I went out to play just as the rainbow came out, and I remember sitting on the wet grass just staring at the colors in awe at how bright they looked now that I could see them.

One time there was this huge storm and my family was all in the cellar, but I couldn't find my dog. I ran out to find him and he was in the house. It was too late for me to run back so I took cover in my room. Before I knew it my house was lifted into the air and my dog and i were flying though the tornado. We went over the rainbow and landed in a magical world filled with little people that took care of me instead of the other way around. And there was candy and ice cream and popcorn and chips and chocolate and french 75's. None of it made me fat and I was never hung over so I decided to stay on that side of the rainbow. The end.

The day after I moved into my new home in the country, feelings swooping back and forth between 'yay' and 'holy cow what have I done moving from the city to corn fields all by myself am I crazy?', I saw a rainbow. I was driving back from the general store (yes, my closest shop is a general store - corner store, hardware store, video rental, post office, and fertilizer centre all in one:) and a big old thunder storm had just finished when there, smack in front of me was a big, beautiful rainbow. It seemed to be starting on the road in front of me and, I kid you not, seemed to end just about where my house is situated. That's when I knew I was home.

Instead of a rainbow story, I have a rainbow hope. In May of 2010, our daughter was stillborn due to a cord accident. We are currently in the process of trying to conceive another child through fertility treatments (she was a fertility baby too). In the baby loss world, the baby born after a loss is called a rainbow baby (in reference to the rainbows that come after storms). This mobile would be perfect because I'm wanting to incorporate a rainbow or two into the new room without over doing it.

I was driving back up to college in Boulder quite a few years ago when I was caught in a sudden and vicious rain storm just north of Denver. Now, Coloradans generally know how to handle snow on the road, but we aren't the best when it comes to rain so after struggling to see and hoping that my little car wouldn't be washed off the road, I pulled over with the rest of the freaked out travelers and waited it out. In perfect Colorado fashion, it was gone in ten minutes and, still shaky from the experience I got back into my car only to find the biggest, brightest rainbow over the highway - one of those great rainbows where you can see the whole semicircle. Still with me ten years later.

a rainbow memory?? the day my baby was born (may 28th, 2010) it was raining, I went to the doctor and he told me that my baby's heart was beating way to slow, I had no signs of being into labor anytime soon (no contractions, no nothing), so we schedule a c-section that same day, I went out of the doctor's office and was overwhelmed, I was going to be a mom a few hours later!! and then I saw the most beautiful rainbow ever, it was like lying on the mountains... it got stuck in my head during surgery, I felt so blessed even though it was not the birth I planned :D

oh my gosh, i loooove it! i remember when i was little, and we used to turn the sprinklers on outside when it was hot and angle them around until we could find a rainbow (or two). we'd get quite wet in the process, which was totally fun and added to the loveliness of the experience!

I don't have a specific rainbow memory, but rainbows always have this special kind of power or magical feeling every time you see one. It's like you're seeing one for the first time, every time.

When I think about rainbows I can't help but remember the story of Noah and how God promised that He would no longer flood the earth like that again. To represent His promise he gave us the rainbow and to just think that we still see His promise today reminds us exactly how marvelous He is.

Those mobiles are GORGEOUS!!! And just in time for me to start really thinking about baby's room decor... mmmmm :)

My rainbow moment was in a random Walmart parking lot... and suddenly just stopping (in my car) to pull out my (crappy) cell phone camera to attempt to take a picture of the most BRILLIANT rainbow... which SO didn't come out (shocker there). No one believed it was as gorgeous as it was - or that it was, in fact, a double rainbow (though the little one was really faint). But I do remember being awe-struck by it :)

These mobiles are fabulous! We are expecting our first little love in Sept and don't have one yet for the baby. Would be great in the green room--we don't know boy or girl.

My husband & I had an outdoor wedding in May 07. Just as we were getting ready to walk down the aisle a storm came thru. We switched to cocktails and waited it out-thankfully it was short lived. When we did have our ceremony there was a rainbow behind us. IT was awesome.

More recently we attended my cousin's wedding in Ithaca. He and his partner got married the day after NY passed the same sex marriage legislation. The rainbow appeared just before their ceremony. IT was just right!

My four year old loves rainbows. While I don't have any real rainbow memories as a kid (other than Rainbow Bright - ha!) I know my daughter will. She loves me to "draw" rainbows on her back at night - telling her all the colors as I go. She even corrected me once - I got to purple and she said, "Mom, it's indigo!" Such smart little stinkers kids can be. We also really love the book, 'A Rainbow of my Own' by Don Freeman - beautiful illustrations.

I used to have a rainbow hot air balloon mobile that hung from the ceiling when i was a little girl. A small teddy bear sat in the basket. I remember watching it spin around, mesmerized by the blurring of the colors. It was comforting to me. When I grew up, my parents had taken the hot air balloon out of my room and I never knew where it had disappeared to, but as a teenager I wasn't too concerned. A few years ago, my grandfather died and when I was looking through the attic to find old photo albums with his pictures, I found the old hot air balloon mobile in a box and all my feelings of being a care free little girl came flooding back. It was so comforting.

We have a vintage beveled glass window that hangs in a window in our stairway. When the afternoon sun shines in it projects little rainbows all over the walls of the stairway. Hadn't thought anything of it until our 3 week old daughter became fascinated by them when I was bringing her upstairs. She could sit and stare at them. Made me appreciate the fact that I get to see rainbows almost everyday :)

I'm old!!! About 30 years ago the at womens church group I belonged to we exchanged gifts on birthdays and Christmas as Secret Pals. My secret pal gave me a bunch of stuff with rainbows designs. I received an ashtray (have quite smoking since then 4/28/05), a set if 3 refrigerator magnets, a bath towel, a hand towel and a few other things I can't remember what.

I still have the ashtray it's used for earrings now. Two of The refrigerator magnets have survived (4 moves and 6 refrigerators). The hand towel and other stuff are long gone.

The towel? I still have the towel. It has seen a lot of useage. In fact it just got washed yesterday. It has held up much better than it's owner over the years. I think of Pam my secret pal when it gets used.

I'd love to win the mobil for my baby brother and sister in law. They are expecting their first child in December. The towel will be 31 then.

My favorite rainbow memory is driving home in the rain from my fertility doctor's office. I was in tears because I was pregnant, but tests had shown some bloodflow problems. As I drove out of the rainstorm, I saw a huge double rainbow across the sky, and I remember wishing on it that everything would be okay. I think the double rainbow was an omen, because we now have happy, healthy one-year old twin boys!

Back in the 80's I worked for a large bank. I don't remember what year it was but they were having a 125th year Annaversary Celebration. They held a decoration contest for each Branch. We went with a rainbow theme. We mad rainbows and hung them from the ceiling. We painted rainbows on all the windows. We had rainbows everywhere. Alas we did not win.
