Top 10 Passive Aggressive Presents for Parents

Baby showers, holidays, and birthdays offer up prime opportunities to give gifts that keep on giving… in the form of loud noises, ridiculous messes, and feelings of confusion and bewilderment from the poor unsuspecting parents. We’ve all received them – those presents that seem to say “I love you” while subtly communicating otherwise. The kind of gifts that make childred swoon with joy, and make their parents say “gee, thanks.” Check out the list here (I think #1 is hilar): Top 10 Passive Aggressive Presents for Parents.

my mother in law TOTALLY gave my nephew a drum set for Christmas one year. Fortunately we have to travel for Christmas so if she ever pulls that stunt with us, we can just claim there's no room in the luggage to bring it back!

My son just came home from his Abuelos (grandparents) with a handheld video game. Oh, did I mention that he is 3 and that we have already told all the relatives that we will NOT be buying the kids video games, ever?!? Within 5 minutes of being home he yelled at his sister, hit her and spit on her just because she touched it! It magically found it's way into the trash after bedtime and my husband made a call to his parents.

I am cracking up at the parenting books.

My SIL gave us a crazy noise making toy that had NO turn of or volume switch for my son's 1st bday. Don't worry, I made sure to give her son a paint set the following year. What? kindling the young artist is a good thing, right? tee hee.

OMG! The moon sand!!!! I got one in a goody bag once for my kid. After playing with it, my kid was super frustrated because he couldn't mold it easily like playdoh and I was frustrated because we had to eventually replace the carpet to get that stuff out of there. Oh and I hated that woman for putting it into the goody bag. I never went to a party at her place ever again! I know I sound vindictive but putting moon sand was just evil!

Okay I SO needed the laugh today! Moon sand is evil and the fairy water cooler speaks for itself. And those book titles look like they would make a perfect baby shower present! HA! LOVE IT.

Hahaha! My mom used to pull the trick that once the batteries died in our most annoying toys we were told the toy was "broken" and needed to be put up. My MIL LOVES to buy toys that make noise. Of course, right now the 4 month old loves it... but sometimes we get so annoyed. So much so, we "quote" the toy's noises. Can't wait until the batteries start dying on these suckers!

My MIL gave us a singing potty when our son was about three month old, which everyone ecept for her assumed was some kind of gag gift. Turned out she din't find that funny...
