THE WINNERS!

Thank you to everyone for the gorg eye candy in the form of custom made pretty potholders for the SEWING MACHINE DOUBLE DOWN CONTEST. Last Friday you met the eight fab judges, and boy did we have our work cut out for us. Over the weekend we whipped out our scorecards and poured over every entry, evaluating the four categories: Originality, Style, Presentation, and Workmanship. We narrowed it down to ten finalists, then two winning entries, the creators of which will each receive one of two amazing sewing machines that Brother has generously offered to provide: one Brother PC-420 PRW Limited Edition Project Runway Sewing Machine (just like Jacinda's) and one Limited Edition Project Runway Innov-ís 40 Sewing Machine (just like Jaime's).

There are ten finalists, but there can only be two winners. So we have a surprise for you: Contest judge and Free Spirit textile designer Valori Wells is sending each of our eight finalists a yard of gorg fabric from her collection as pictured above!

Without further ado, check out the finalists (in no particular order):

Katie Middlebrook

Catherine Hodge

Sunni Bolger

Tamara at ModernRadar

Michelle Smith

Stacie Pighin

Kristie Fields

Katie Lewis

Now find out which potholder entries WIN THE SEWING MACHINE DOUBLE DOWN CONTEST after the jump...

THE WINNERS

The Brother PC-420 PRW Limited Edition Project Runway Sewing Machine goes to...

Jessica from A Little Gray

The Limited Edition Project Runway Innov-ís 40 Sewing Machine goes to...

Vanessa from LBG Studio

Thank you to every single Prudent Mamas for everything you do. No seriously, we feel honored and amazed to spend our days with women as warm, kind, and talented as you.

What a THRILL to see my penmanship potholder included! I love that fabulous fox potholder, too. I have a friend that would go crazy for the owl. Any chance we might see some of these as tutorials?

Congratulations to the winners, thank you ladies for hosting/judging, and congrats to everyone who took the time to challenge themselves creatively!

Thank you so much for putting on a great contest! It's so much more fun and interesting to compete for such an amazing prize rather than have someone win randomly.

I particularly like the presentation of the ruffle potholder. A chalkboard background with a homemade quote...how cute! It looks like something out of a Pottery Barn catalog.
