Well, we're done with gifts for the Precious (our 5 month old, Lucy), but my goal is to get started on a quiet book in January--see blog link below--this is a fantastic tutorial.

I am just finishing up the crafty gifts this weekend, which includes a ton of felt food a mailbox and letter link here http://twelvecraftstillchristmas.blogspot.com/2010/05/mailbox.html and I did make my oldest a black apple doll and then a black apple kitty for the youngest sorry no pics camera got busted maybe I'll get one in my stocking. And I love the sewing machine I've been wanting one for years and my mom (who has two fancy machines) thinks I'm nuts I just tell her "Come on it has HELLO KITTY!!" that makes anything cool right!?

our version had english and german words in it (my parents were born in germany and immigrated with their families when they were young children). i think this would make a fabulous book for children who are brought up in multilingual homes. as of now, i can only find the english version but i'm sure if you look hard enough you can find ones with not only german, but french, spanish, italian, etc. i can remember spending hours looking all the intricate pictures of the talented richard scarry. such fun!!! :) i know my kids would love this book. i may have to just steal it from my parent's place next time we're in texas! :) hee hee!
