My design fantasy is a solid white bathroom. Not just white though, glossy-shiny-shield-your-eyes white. I would just soak in the tub there and close out everything. There is currently an army of rubber duckies breeding in my bathtub.

My design fantasy would include floors that are grippy enough so newly-walking socked feet won't slip, soft enough so they don't leave bonks and boo-boos on sweet little heads and chubby baby knees and firm enough that cars and trucks can zoom across them, oh and they have to clean up easily. I'd also like lots of built in storage to hide the ever-growing mountain of toys.

I dream of having a clean house (hehehe, it's definitely a dream!) where the gates look like they belong, the "child safe" stuff not only looks fantastic (like it could be in a Home and Garden instead of Family Fun) but also work (that's a dream too! Gosh, I'd settle for my son keeping his clothes on!) I'd love to have a bedroom in brown and blue, with silk sheets in a chocolate brown, nice painted walls (why we've never painted our room, I have no idea) My husband's deck could fold up into the wall instead of taking up space. And I love the idea of built in storage to hide all the toys.

I've always wanted to transform one massive wall into a huge clock, by mounting the guts and hands in the center of 12 small shelves.

Then I could make the "numbers" anything I want: flowers, candles, origami, kids blocks, photographs, small sculptures, ornaments at holiday times, etc.

I envision the diameter of the clock face being at least 6 feet across, and little or no other art in the room. It'd be an amazing statement piece that could transform the room over and over and over again.

It'd be especially awesome if I could find a mechanism that allowed for interchangeable hands, so the entire face of the clock could change with my design whims.I have no clue if such a thing is even possible.

Of course, the whole idea is dependent upon the right space.

1. A playroom for all kiddie messes, like the unfinished room in our house in vermont, which literally transformed every few weeks - from the paint on the wall (my favorite was the pink phase) to the puffy paint on the floors.
2. an open kitchen, because food is where the party's at
3. furniture by ANYTHING other than ikea (someday i hope to afford better)
4. a sewing machine and the time to use it (oh and the skills to use it right)
5. family portraits, pictures, and kiddie art tastefully creating a hallway mosaic
6. and while i'm at it, i'll throw in a japanese water garden out back

aaahh... fun to dream!!!

Seriously...he is COLORBLIND and knows it, you would think this gives me the ability to make this decision, but unfortunately that is not the case. Hubby is so colorblind that he was convinced the car he drove for 6 years was red when in fact it was plum purple!!! He had to ask all of his friends to verify that I was NOT playing a joke on him.

I fantasize about a new custom home, designed by me!!! (and cleaned by someone else!:) Clean, and sunny, bright and welcoming. Modern/contemporary, so it is warm and inviting, but yet still colorful and fun. I love bright colors as accents, hot pinks, turquoise, yellow, orange with bright white everything else! Too much fun!!!! Maybe someday, after the kids have moved out, and I can decorate how I want, instead of the best way to conceal the dirt! LOL

My dream design is a secret door with secret stairs inside leading to a secret lair (the children would never know!) Inside the secret lair would be a pantry just for grownups with all sorts of "bad for you" food and a library with those bookshelves that go from ceiling to floor and you have to have a ladder that has wheels and slides. It would have tons of books and large brown leather chairs and Turkish rugs. All this, I would share with my husband. Then inside another secret door, would be a bathroom with a large white claw foot tub and beautiful teal and black damask wallpaper (my husband hates wallpaper) and a pedestal sink and lots of cabinets for makeup and hair things and lots of fluffy spa quality white towels that you can never have when you are the only girl in a house full of boys. And candles, oh, the candles! No one, and I mean no one, would ever know of this bathroom. The three males in the house could fight and lament over the one bathroom in the "regular" house. :)

I share a design dream with my husband to own a barn style home (one-story with finished basement) with cedar shingles and white trim and an interior decorated in a cozy french country style all set on 3-5 acres of land. Thanks for this great giveaway opportunity.

I dream of a rustic beach home with a wrap around porch. Always sparkling clean and never gets dirty, decorated with rustic white and turquoise. Ahhhh bliss....thanks for the getaway, now back to reality :)

I fantasize about a cottage on the beach with worn wooden floors and thin white curtains blowing softly in the beachy breeze. Aaaahh...

I fantasize about having a house in which all of the remodeling is FINALLY finished: the children each have their own room and we are not all in one bedroom; the living room is fit to sit in, with a fireplace, and we can cozy up on a soft comfy couch; we have gorgeous hardwood floors; and a huge clawfoot tub so that I can soak my tired body and have Calgon take me away :) .

I fantasize about having a floor free of milk splatters, walls free of scribbles, and a couch that is not sadly broken after an epic superhero game. And also for a maid :)

I want a "lady cave". All you ever hear about are man caves. I want a lady cave with all things feminine. Tea sets and lace and silver handled brushes and leather bound books. The best part- silence. :) And lots of Victorian-esque charm.

My fantasy design would be to change out the style of my home every week! Sometimes I feel a little rustic, other times shabby chic and yet other times modern/sleek. Really I'd just be ok with one of these awesome chairs to pair with our rustic dining room table for that fun unexpectedness!
