GIVEAWAY: Gingercake Patterns
Virginia from Gingercake, is here to share her adorable pattern shop with us and to announce an AWESOME giveaway just in time for holiday gift making. You may remember her from the lovely Scrappy Pumpkin Tutorial. Take it away Virginia...
Hi! I am Virginia Lindsay, creator of Gingercake Patterns. I started sewing again (like many of you!) when my kids were new and I was spending more time at home while they were napping and playing. I loved all the bright and beautiful fabrics available and I became addicted to searching for new projects all the time! I eventually found myself with many ideas of my own and I loved the process of taking that idea and turning it into a perfected pattern. I wanted to create items that were useful and thoughtful for our busy lives. Since most of us already have an almost full schedule, a day spent sewing is such a treat and I wanted to create a line of patterns would be a treat for the sewer and the person she is sewing for. For sewers, searching for that perfect pattern is like shopping at the mall for other women (we shop at the mall too!)~ we get to think about who we are sewing for, what fabric combinations we are going to use, and always ask ourselves, are they really going to use this? You don't want to waste your precious sewing time on something that isn't going to be cute and useful! My favorite feedback from people who bought a Gingercake pattern is not only "we use this all the time!" but also, "i had so much fun making this!" We all know that we can buy something cute at the big box store, but creating a handmade gift is not only about who is getting the gift but about how much you enjoyed your time spent sewing!
This giveaway is for the entire collection of Gingercake Patterns. This will keep you busy well past the holidays! In this collection you will find cute and stylish patterns for moms, kids, and everyone else on your list. Enjoy your sewing!
Read on for the details on how to enter!
To enter this giveaway, visit Gingercake Patterns and then come back here and leave a comment telling us which pattern you would start with if you won them all, and also who you will make it for. I'd start with the Crayon Art Folio for my artist Clare and then move on to Max the Owl for my cuddle-bug Miss Quinn. Ok, and then I'd make the Getaway Duffle for me.
So leave your comment anytime between now and Sunday, November 14th. Come back every day for a new entry. Tweet, Stumble, and/or share the giveaway on facebook by clicking "like" below and leave us another comment each time letting us know for an additional entry. We will select one winner at random. I'm excited to announce that this giveaway is open to INTERNATIONAL READERS! yay!
Enter, enter, enter! Love this giveaway!

I would make Lola for my kids! There are some amazing patterns that I would love to have!
increasinglydomestic(at)gmail(dot)com
I like the Love your Lunchbox, but all the other patterns are just as great!
remaho80[at]aol[dot]com
It has to be the Katie bird pillow for my new niece, due to arrive in two weeks.
I would start with the art caddy for my boys.
tweeted the giveaway
I really like the new duffel bag but I think my favourite is the love your lunchbox bag. so cute.
I would make the on the go organiser to help organise myself better but I could whip up some stylin' Christmas pressies with these!
hmmm. love the pillows, but the art caddy could be pretty handy these days!!!!
I love the lunch boxes! And the recycling-maniac daughter? Adorable.

I would start witht he Katie pillow for my daughter Katie and continue with the Lola pillow for my daughter Charlie, you need something to cuddle when it is cold and horrbible out there, my sister would get the bag and the art folio would be a birthday present. the art tote would be ideal for me, I hardly ever make something for myself.
Yay, one for international readers! And what an amazing prize. I would start with the notebook slip covers, for all those difficult-to-make-for men in my life - my husband, dad, father in law, brother in law and brother! Then I'd make a Max the Owl for all my female relatives and the kids!
I love Max the owl!!! perfect for my boys and then Lola for my girls!!
Nice prize! I would probably start with a pink Lola owl pillow for my soon to be born niece.
Those are some really awesome patterns!I'd start with the notebook slip cover for my Kindle and then the lunchbox for my husband.
I would start with the notebook cover!
Love the patterns! I would make two of the crayon art folios for my nephews, ages 2 and 4. They would love it!
I liked it on Facebook, and I'm off to look at the site and pick my fave pattern!
ok, I think I'd start with a Katy Bird. Maybe. It's so hard to choose!
I'd start with the crayon art folio. I was just thinking I needed some new quite things for my boy for church.
I would definitely start with the Make Your Getaway Duffle, one for me and two child sizes for my preschool girls. We'll be all set for our trip to see Grandma for the holidays!
Lola is a must for my twin girls! And then I would create the art folio for my niece...thank you for turning me on to new and exciting things every day!
I would start with the art cady tote for my son!
I'm loving the on-the-go organizer!
I stumbled this post!
I love the 'on the go organizer', but I can see myself making lots owls. I can't decide between 'Max' and 'Lola'.
and I liked you on facebook!
I would do probably everything! But first start with the OWL! OMG I love owls!!!!
I love both of the lunch bags, but especially the The Waste Free Lunch Bag.
I'd also start with the Crayon Art Folio. I'd have a hard time deciding what to do next because there are so many cute choices!
I've liked you on facebook :)
I would start with the cute owl for my oldest son. He's had pnuemonia for two weeks :( he could use a little buddy right now.
I would start with the Katie Bird pillow pattern, too cute!
I would make the notebook slip cover for myself! And our house would be covered in owls!
I "liked" it on facebook!
I would love to start with the crayon art folio for my nephews it would be the perfect Christmas gift.
I love these patterns! I would love to make the crayon art folio for my kids to take along to grandma's house over the holidays!
My daughter would love the owls!
I actually just bought the Crayon Art Folio, Katie Bird, and Owl patterns to make for my daughter for Christmas. I would start there and then move onto the other cute projects!
The notebook pattern would be the first one and it would be for me.
loving the little gnomies.
wow! those projects are awesome! great for gifts and for myself! I love the owl pillow!
I would love to make the Kate Bird pillow for my 3 year old's birdie room! Then, the art caddy, then the owl pillow! They're all so great- it would be hard to just do one at a time!
love that lunch box! All too cute!
I "liked" on FB
I would make the Owl and the Bird for my daughter and then a second set for the Toy Society... then I would make the lunch bag for me :)
I would totally start with the love your lunch pattern, since I am two months away from going back to work - that might motivate me to keep eating healthy while Im a crazy back to work mama. Then when the guilt kicks in, I would do the crayon tote - for all the driving around during holidays. Seriously, they all rock.
I love the notebook cover! I think that would make a cute gift for just about anyone. I would probably make the duffel as gifts too, and one for myself!
I think I'd have to make the Love your Lunchbox just for myself just because it's cute! Then maybe I'd be nice and make a Lola the Owl for each of my girls. :)
I would love to make the waste free lunch sack and I really love the art caddy (I didn't see this pattern listed on the gingercake site.)
I'd make Max the Owl for my daughter and her college roommate for Christmas. They seem to have an inexplicable affection for owls!
I would need to make the owl first, for my sister who is mad crazy about owls, and then probably an owl for my son and daughter - neither of whom like to see anything actually leve the house that is made here (thay are only little - 4 and 2).
So many pretty patterns, and it is open to international readers - makes my (very rainy, blustery UK) day!
I think I would be totally selfish and make myself the Love Your Lunchbox first!!
Thank you for such a generous giveaway!

I love, love, love her art tote design. This would definitely be a big plus at my house, since we don't have a designated art spot. The pattern would save me figuring out all those pockets for my lazy self! family blog with a few crafts - aureliamarie DOT com.
I would make the bird pillow first for my neice. Love it! Thanks!
I would make the Lola pillow for my kids! Soooo cute!
I absolutely love the Max and Lola Owl patterns. How adorable-my great grandmother collected owls-I think most of them have traveled to other family members so this would be a fun way for me to remember her!
All the patterns are so lovely. I would choose the art caddy first. I have three year old twin granddaughters and they love to colour and do crafts. Next I would make the crayon caddy, the lunch bag. I could go on and on. Love them all. I also downloaded the nightgown tutorial. It will be perfect for my two little munchkins.
Thanks for the generous giveaway.
Crayon Art Folio is the one I would make first, for my Anna but then, I will use them all. So cute and amazing, and lovely!
I'm working on a bird themed nursery and LOVE that bird pillow! So cute!
I just 'liked' this on fb, but I really L.O.V.E. this !
The art caddy totes are awesome! My kids need those to corral all of their supplies.
I think I would begin by making two lola owl pillows, one for each of my kids! The funny thing is that my late cat was name lola so it would be sweet to have an owl (my lola was loving all birds...loving might not be the right term for those unlucky birds...)so a bird name lola would be great!
I also liked you on facebook!
open to internationals!!! woop woop!
i would thoroughly enjoy sewing any and all of those patterns- they look awesome!
What an awesome giveaway!
I'd have to start with that Katie Bird pillow! My second son is due in February and the theme of his nursery is "Three Little Birds." Seriously, if I don't win (and what are the chances?) I'm going to have to buy that pattern now that I know it's out there! It's perfect!
I would definitely make the crayon art folio. So cute and useful.
I love the Katie bird pillow...
I just took my first sewing classes as I am pregnant with a little girl(My first). I knew I was going to have to start learning how to make little pillowcase dresses and eventually halloween costumes. I will be getting a sewing machine for Christmas and I am BEYOND excited about it all. I stumbled upon Prudent baby after my 2nd sewing class and LOVE your site =) I would/will definitely be making Baby Dennis the Lola owl pillows in her matching bedding fabric.
If my friend doesn't rush to make a Max for her daughter herself, I'd make her one!
I LOVE these patterns! Thanks for having these on your fun blog! I would start with Lola the owl because I'm working on a new 'big girl' room for my toddler and a sweet little owl friend would be the perfect addition! But, after that, I'd make EVERYTHING. ALL of it. Please, I NEED these patterns. yes, need. I'm groveling, begging, and no, I'm not ashamed.
please (ha!)
I liked this on Facebook! Thanks!
I would start with the lunchbox for my son's daycare teachers!
I also liked this on facebook!
I would start with the On The Go organizers, and I'd make one each for my mom and sister and of course myself. :) Then I'd move on to the Make Your Getaway duffle.
I'd start with a Katie bird pillow for my daughter Katie, and then I'd make a notebook cover for my pregnant friend - she needs a nursing journal. :)
I would make the crayon art folio for my niece... her birthday is coming up!!! And then I would make a Lola Owl Pillow for my craft room... she'd be a hoot in there! Thanks for the great giveaway!
I LOVE ALL of these patterns! I would start with the art folios. I would make these for ALL 5 of my nephews! Then I would make the art totes for them as well! Then I would make the purse and the journals for my sis-in-laws and my own sis! Mom and my mother-in-law would surely get one too! I would then make the lola and the birdie for some of my friends who recently had babies as these would make adorable additions to their nurseries! I love love love ALL of these patterns! I love Gingercake blog and read every week! I hope I WIN!
I love the lunchbox! My son is in desperate need of a new lunchbox. Then I think we'd go to the owl for my daughter. It's too cute to not have.
I "liked" this on facebook and tweeted about it too! I really hope to WIN!
I'd start with Max the Owl for my son because his nursery is full of owls. :) Then I'd make a notebook cover for myself because I really need more organization in my life.
I liked on FB.
I'd make the lunch box for my baby girl.
I stumbled.
These would make awesome Xmas gifts!

I would make the Notebook Slipcovers for my beautiful neighbor teen. We do Christmas gift exchanges with their family and she would LOVE this in some funky fabrics. Even if I don't win, I'm probably going to purchase and make them for her anyway! Thanks for the opportunity to win the collection of patterns!!!
I would start with the headbands for my daughter and nieces, then the tote bags for my sisters-in-law, the notebook cover for my bestie who is back in college....I definitely wouldn't be able to finish them all by this Christmas!
Love these patterns! Thanks for showcasing them. First up for me would be the Art Caddy for two precious little girls. Second up would be the Love Your Lunch Box for my eco conscious 21 yr old daughter & my "I take my lunch to school" teacher daughter!
Crayon art portfolio for my son!
I've been eyeing up the Lola the Owl pillow for a while! I would make it for my daughter!
I'd have to start off with the Katie Bird for a friend who decorated her new baby's room with this sweet little bird. Every baby needs a LOVEY.
From there, I'd have to make a couple of the getaway bags. Those would make GREAT Christmas gifts!!!
Speaking of Christmas, notebook covers would be PERFECT teacher gifts!
Hope I win!
I would definitely make the duffle bag for my Grandmother. She is retiring in April and going on a mission, so this Christmas will be the last time I see her for 2 years! I think the duffle bag would help her with her travels (and hopefully to remember that I love her).
Liked this contest on Facebook!
SWEET! I'd be all over the Duffle. Pick me!!
I totally love the bohemian headband. Just cut 11 inches of hair off and have been trying to figure out a cute way to pull it off my forehead.
The Owl is wonderful. A dear friend's son is an owl fanatic. We have already made him Owl garland for his room as a present and this is the ideal addition for christmas!
I'd start with the make your getaway duffle for my sister. (or me if I mess up too much to give it away).
I would love to start with either the luch bag or the art caddy. thanks so much

The elephant pillow!
shannonsnail@hotmail.com
I would probably start with a few lunch totes as gifts for my fabulous coworkers! But the Owls! Oh goodness, I'm thinking about owls for our nursery which we will begin to decorate after December, so I might have to make some of the owl patterns for myself! (It's for the baby! I swear!)
Thank goodness it is only November 8 so I have time to make more than one of these wonderful projects. I want to make a trio of the Make Your Getaway Bags for the next adventure with my two sisters, but I'd have to start with Art Caddy to make sure my daughter has an extra special surprise on Christmas morning.
I would start with the on the go organizer, then the art caddy.
mare460 at gmail.com
I would start with Max the Owl for my son Owen!
i love the stuffed owls
I would start with the Bird pillow - we are expecting our 2nd daughter in 10 weeks and the theme for the nursery is bird. Thank you so much!
I'd make the art caddy for my son to keep all the art supplies together.
I shared on Facebook.
I would definitely make the overnighter for the many trips (although not often enough) to visit my precious granddaughters who live 2 states away!! The patterns are beautiful, thank you for the opportunity to win.
Since I tend to make multiple projects at the same time, I would probably work on the love your lunch box and the crayon art folio at the same time.
I think I would have to start with the on-the-go organizer. It would be a great stocking stuffer :-)
I love the art caddy tote. Brilliant!

The lola owl is my favourite...I would make one for each of my girls.....and one for me... and one for every little girl I know. What a great gift!!!
Omigosh! I. love. all. of. it. Maybe I can wipe the drool off my keyboard without anyone noticing. Is that awkward?
Thanks for pointing her out!! I love all the patterns. I would LOVE to make the crayon totes for my kids and younger cousins. The lunch bag, totally for ME! Thank you so so much!!
Liza

DEFINITELY the Katie Bird pillow for our living room. It would be so perfect to add to our snuggly quilt I just made for reading on the couch together.
And, of course, it would technically be for my little girls. Ahem. Not for me. Of course.

Well, since I just started working on an owl print blanket for my youngest son I would definately love to make the Owl Pillow. I would then make a Crayon Art Folio for my older son who is always asking "Color please". These would be great to take in the car also and I am always looking for good car toys!
I love all the patterns! Would have to start with Lola for my 3 year old's owl bedroom and then move on to the art caddy to organize all her art supplies.
I would have to make the darling Lola owl for my even more darling girl baby Lola! How dreamy to have a cute owl named after her! Then immediately following that I would have to make the art folio for my boy baby Nicco! The boy loves to draw!
just moved to our new house and FINALLY have room for my sewing room. All these projects look awesome! But i think I'd start with the owls for my very good friend Amyra and her baby girl Scarlett who are both big owl fans.
I would make the "Notebook Slipcover" as a Bible cover for my aunt; we're spending Thanksgiving with her and I need a thoughtful, special hostess gift. Maybe in the gorgeous turquoise and brown fabric I've been coveting...
I love them all such cute stuff. If I were to make something- oh say like this afternoon- it would be the bird pillow...but for Christmas...teh crayon holder thing- for a neice or nephew.
Oh goodness, love them all. The first thing I would make is the art caddy tote for my kids, they would love one.

I would love to make lola the owl for my daughter - she is an owl lover and collector and would be crazy over this cute owl.
Wow, what a fun giveaway! I love all these patterns, but I really would probably start with a Lola Owl for my baby girl :) Then probably the Art Folio for my son who loves to color :)
I love creative people who aren't stingy! And I would by far have to start with the notebook pattern because I have been wanting to put together a notebook of my patterns I print off from you guys, helpful hints like which needle to use with which fabrics, and a section for my long wonderful wish list of beautiful fabrics and insipiring projects! Then I would most certainly make my little toddler the Crayon Art Folio! How cute is that! And I am super excited about the little caroler girl! :) Love her!
OMG, so cute! So cute, in fact, that I will stop "lurking" and finally make a post!
If I had to choose... I would start with the Katie Bird pillow and make it for my bff who is preggers for the first time... not because she needs it for her nursery or any good reason like that, but because it is totally her and she would love it to pieces.
Next, I would make the art caddy for my god daughter... she is a very creative little lady and I always like to find and make homemade things from her "gute Fee" (fairy godmother)...
And then I think it would just be a free-for-all because there are soooo many cute patterns!
I would start with the owl, two at a time, one for my godson and one for my goddaughter, twins!
Always always in need of more lunchboxes!
I love the art caddy tote, so cute and fun!
I'd have to make Max the Owl first- too cute!
I would either start with the Max owl or Lola Owl. They are both so cute.
I'd start with two crayon art folios for my twin boys :)
Oh fun! I've been lame and haven't bought any patterns and instead have been stumbling my way through my own crafty projects. Um - I think a pattern might help!
I'd start with the lunch box for my little girl who will be in all day school next year and would LOVE a one of a kind creation to tote around. These are super cute and I love the materials! I hope you pick me!
I'd love the crayon are folio for my sweet boy - though it'll mean keeping a closer eye on him if he decides to carry it to the library :)

For sure the Art Caddy Tote for each of my kids to replace some of the plastic bins I have corralling their art supplies and coloring books.
Not sure if I like the new duffel bag or the Katie Bird pillow better.
So hard to choose! Probably the Art Caddy Tote for my daughter, Avie.
Ooh, I love the crayon caddy pattern. They're all adorable. Great Give-a-way idea.
Like you on facebook!
I would start with the Art Caddy for my son, and then I would make myself a laptop cover. Great giveaway!
I'd totally make the notebook slipcover for myself first! Then the art folio for my little one :) It'd be great for Christmas! Thanks for a great giveaway!
I think I would start with the Love your Lunch Box pattern. My daughter is so hard on her lunch boxes. They always come home so dirty and with things spilled in them. If I made her a couple with this adorable pattern I could throw it in the laundry when needed. Thanks so much.
I "liked" it on Facebook.
I would love to make the crayon art folio for my niece for Christmas! Such neat patterns...!
ecc3_11@hotmail.com
I liked this on Facebook. Cuz really, who wouldn't like all these gorg patterns for free!
I have already bookmarked the lunchbag for my girls. I would start with that - one for each of them and then make that cute birdie for myself. Then I would start making art caddies for neices and nephews!

Wish there was a LOVE button!! ;o)
I think I'd have to start with the lola owl pattern for my daughter's 8th bday on the 20th. Then the Katie bird pillow for my 6 yr old then the duffle bag for me then...ooh I love these patterns! they are adorable!!
Oh definetly the duffle!!! Love it!!
Can never have too many bags!!

I would make the 'Love your Lunch Box' for my little Evie who is 4 and just busting to go to kinder (which starts at 4yo here in Australia). Everyday she collects snacks of various descriptions to 'put in my lunch box for kinder!' She won't actually be starting until Feb - very cute. she would just burst with excitment if I made her her very own Kinder Lunch Box! :)
Hi,
I will start with Art caddy tote as a birthday present for my daughter's 7th birthday at the end of nov. Followed by a notebook slipcover for my macbook, a katie bird pillow for my 6 month old baby, crayon art folio for my 5 year old son and a lunch box for my 9 year old girl. And also want to sew the duffle for my hubby and a teenage boy. Phew, can't wait to get started :-)
Hopefully you won't disqualify me for being too selfish, but I would definitely start with the Love your Lunchbox for me! Then I may move onto the owl pillow for my son and the crayon art folio for my daughter.
OMG!! I would start with the Art Caddy, Crayon Folio and Notebook Slip Covers! My daughters are never without their "drawing" stuff and this would be a cute and organized way to take it on the go. I also have a few friends who are expecting little ones and I would jump right on those Owl and birdie pillows! Too stinking cute! After attempting those projects, I would HAVE to make a few getaway duffels. I am a bag-lady at heart so I would make one (or 2 or 3) for myself but then also for my sisters and moms! LOVE!!
Oh, I'd definately start with the On the Go Organizer for myself (but I love the Art Caddy, so lets be real, I'd probably sew it first for my daughter)! PS...all the patterns are cool, so if I did win them all I'd probably spend a few days staring at all of them to figure out what to do first
I love the lunch box- like I need another one but this one is so cute. Kat
