GIVEAWAY: Gingercake Patterns
Virginia from Gingercake, is here to share her adorable pattern shop with us and to announce an AWESOME giveaway just in time for holiday gift making. You may remember her from the lovely Scrappy Pumpkin Tutorial. Take it away Virginia...
Hi! I am Virginia Lindsay, creator of Gingercake Patterns. I started sewing again (like many of you!) when my kids were new and I was spending more time at home while they were napping and playing. I loved all the bright and beautiful fabrics available and I became addicted to searching for new projects all the time! I eventually found myself with many ideas of my own and I loved the process of taking that idea and turning it into a perfected pattern. I wanted to create items that were useful and thoughtful for our busy lives. Since most of us already have an almost full schedule, a day spent sewing is such a treat and I wanted to create a line of patterns would be a treat for the sewer and the person she is sewing for. For sewers, searching for that perfect pattern is like shopping at the mall for other women (we shop at the mall too!)~ we get to think about who we are sewing for, what fabric combinations we are going to use, and always ask ourselves, are they really going to use this? You don't want to waste your precious sewing time on something that isn't going to be cute and useful! My favorite feedback from people who bought a Gingercake pattern is not only "we use this all the time!" but also, "i had so much fun making this!" We all know that we can buy something cute at the big box store, but creating a handmade gift is not only about who is getting the gift but about how much you enjoyed your time spent sewing!
This giveaway is for the entire collection of Gingercake Patterns. This will keep you busy well past the holidays! In this collection you will find cute and stylish patterns for moms, kids, and everyone else on your list. Enjoy your sewing!
Read on for the details on how to enter!
To enter this giveaway, visit Gingercake Patterns and then come back here and leave a comment telling us which pattern you would start with if you won them all, and also who you will make it for. I'd start with the Crayon Art Folio for my artist Clare and then move on to Max the Owl for my cuddle-bug Miss Quinn. Ok, and then I'd make the Getaway Duffle for me.
So leave your comment anytime between now and Sunday, November 14th. Come back every day for a new entry. Tweet, Stumble, and/or share the giveaway on facebook by clicking "like" below and leave us another comment each time letting us know for an additional entry. We will select one winner at random. I'm excited to announce that this giveaway is open to INTERNATIONAL READERS! yay!
Enter, enter, enter! Love this giveaway!

It was a difficult decision but I would go with the duffle bag. I have just had a baby and the bag looks like a great size to carry everything that I need for her when we go out!
Love the birdie pillow too! xx
Yay for an international readers giveaway!! Love all the patterns esp the Art Caddy but I think I would start with the 'Love your lunchbox' one each for kids for kindy then I would make lola the owl for myself SO adorable!!!
likin this on facebook.........
Wow!!! What great patterns! My friends & I are all in the middle of the birthday cycle and with christmas coming up, yout crayon caddie & the art organiser will be brilliant gifts!!! Thanks for including us foreigners!
Oh my. That art caddy is JUST what my 5 year old would go crazy for!!

Great give away! So many cool patterns. I think I would start with the love your lunchbox - looks very handy
roddandrosie at gmail dot com
I woudld make a owl pillow first of all for my son who just turned 1 last week!
I would make absolutely everything! I would use a vacation day at work, and make one of each.. I just love it all that much! And with Christmas coming up, it would work out great!
I would start with the owl. He is soooo cute! :)
I "liked" the giveaway
Tweeted the giveaway with a link
I'll start with the bird pillow nad then move on to the lunchbox
I would start with the Crayon Art Folio. My 21 month old loves to color. It would be so great to carry all her stuff in. I have been wanting to make an owl pillow for a while now... LOVE the Lola Owl Pillow.
I liked this on FB!
Tweeted about the giveaway! Also following you on Twitter now too :)
I love Owls and those pillows are way cute! But I love purses too and have been dying to make one, so I'd have to say I'd make the duffel bag first, for myself of course! Then I'd make the owl pillows for my daughter.
Wow, AWESOME giveaway!!! I would start with the Make Your Getaway Duffle for my BFF. Then I'd make several of the Crayon Art Folios for all of the kids in family. And I'm sure I'd get around to making atleast a few of the owl & birdie pillows for the kids, too. I'm pretty sure I'd make atleast 1 of each pattern!
Wow! Where do I start? Well, my friend's little girl loves owls, so I guess I would start with Max the Owl.
I just "liked" this!
Oh! Oh! I LOVE both the owl patterns. My daughter thinks owls are soo cool! Then I'd make the weekend bags, for all of my girlfriends for christmas/birthdays/etc. Hmm, I do need a new lunch bag too. Too cute patterns, too few hours in the day!
My nephew loves elephants so that would be awesome, and who doesn't love a new lunch box to break up the tedium of a sack lunch!
I would make the On The Go Organizer for myself - to give myself a place for my notes on what to sew for gifts.
I liked this on Facebook too!
Oooh, that little bird pattern is super cute. A friend of mine is getting ready to have a baby and this would be a perfect gift! :)
I'd start with the Make Your Getaway Duffle - for at least 3 grown ups on my list! The Love Your Lunchbox would also make a fab Christmas gift!
I would start with the Lola Owl!
I actually just made the notebook slipcover for myself! I'd make the Get Away duffel for my mom and one for my sis. OK and one or 2 for me as well! Super cute!
Oh my goodness! I love the crayon folio and the art caddy. The Owls are Darling. I would love spending my afternoons working on these projects. Amazing stuff! Added her etsy store to my list of favorites.
I would definitely start with the crayon art folio for my little artist! I love it! we do a lot of traveling so it would be perfect for on the go.

I "liked" the giveaway on FB!
stacybondurant (at) gmail (dot) com
cute cute cute! i would start with the crayon folio (what a great giftie!) and would quickly move to the owl pillows.
I would make FIVE Art Caddy Totes! One for each of my little kids. Blessed Organizer!!!
I would make the Lola Owl Pillow for my super cute niece. It would be so her thing. Then, maybe, I'd make one for each of my daughters.
I (fb) liked you!!!
I would make my kids the waste free lunch bags, and then pillows for everyone:)
I think I would make 2 Lolas for my nieces and a Max for their brother, and then an art caddy tote for me. Maybe before I make mine I would make a duffel for my mom. Although there aren't pdfs available for them yet, I would like to make a clothespin doll for me and the little pouch thing she made for her daughter for the little grls at church. Love , love, love her pdfs!!!!
Oh wow!! I'm having a hard time figuring out which I'd start with!! I think I'd go with the art caddy; though it is meant for the little artist, I think it would be perfect for my secret Ravelry swap partner (who is a knitter)!
preciouslilangel80@yahoo.com
Well, I can't wait for the giveway - I'm buying the pattern for the art caddy tonight! That is perfect for my Punky Bear (and all of the art supplies that she is getting for Christmas!).
The notebook covers woud be perfect for covering all of my school notebooks and making me feel pretty even during microbiology lab!
I'd go for the Love Your Lunch Bag. Thanks!
I'd do the Crayon Folio for my daughter! She has a crayon roll, but is always in need of paper.. so this would be perfect!
I would make the art folio for my 6 year old, because art is his life pretty much. And then I would make Max the owl, because I working on doing my son's room in owls. Last but not least I would make the notebook slip-covers for the notebooks I journal in.
Id make Lola for my 1st grandbaby to be, due in May of 2011. It wouid be great for baby tummy time!

I think I would start with the birdie pillow for my 2 year old soon to move to a big bed and then maybe the art supplies tote in a vany attempt to get myself organised :) Lovely giveaway thanks
Please give me an extra entry as I shared this on facebook. Ta
The art caddy would be my first for sure. I also love the lunch box.
lynzward@hotmail.com
I liked this giveaway on Facebook. Now I am off to try to choose which pattern I like best.
Since I'm on my second comment, the SECOND project I'd make would be the Lola Owl. I have a thing for owls. Three stuff owls sit on my bed already. I'd love to add to my collection with one made myself!
I love her patterns! The first thing I would make is the Art Caddy, If I don't win I think I may have see about getting a hold of that little gem!
Love love love the Love Your Lunch Box pattern! I'd make it in either oil cloth or use fusible vinyl so it would wipe clean:)
I liked it on facebook, too:) Keeping my fingers crossed!!
I would definitely make at least two art caddies to hold my kids' things and mine! These are adorable!!
I LOVE Lola! Pick me, pick me! :-)
well these are pretty amazing! You are one talented sewer. If I had all the patterns I would begin with the lunchbox for my daughter who spends long days at university for Dance and needs nourishment all day. Then the Crayon Art Folio would be perfect for organizing markers. Thank you for such an inspirational blog and the chance to win this gift.
Debbie
I would love to try the notebook slip cover because I'm about to go back to school, but the duffle bag is seriously tempting!!
mommypant13@gmail,com
These are all so adorable!! I think I would start with a katie bird pillow and an own for two friends that are about to have their babies! And then I think I would make the crayon art folio for my daughter. Eee, so cute!
2nd Entry! yay! I fb'd also.
Oh wow!! I'm having a hard time figuring out which I'd start with!! I think I'd go with the art caddy; though it is meant for the little artist, I think it would be perfect for my secret Ravelry swap partner (who is a knitter)!
Though I really love the owl pillows for my 2 month old baby girl!
preciouslilangel80@yahoo.com
The on-the-go organizer would be the perfect accessory to the pink "memo from marilyn" stationery I thrifted for my Marilyn Monroe loving sister. Then the Art Caddy for my Vera who loves drawing and carrying things with handles :)
I would Start on the bird.. I have a 18 month old son who would love this!!! And then the art caddy umm I think I would like to have one of these lol!!!
Lola Owl Pillow would be the first one I'd start off with for my bff thats having a baby girl. Then the Katie Bird Pillow for ME!
I would have to start with the art caddy for my girls. We do a lot of projects and that would very useful for storing our materials. I would then HAVE to do the owl pillows. LOVE them; they are TOO CUTE!!!
I would start with the duffle for my girl and my nephew, who need something for travelling to Grandma's house...and would follow up with art caddies for every kid on my Christmas list!
lara3400 at sbcglobal.net
The second project I would do would probably be the art caddie since with a toddler you never seem to find any crayons or art supplies you just bought (Is there a spell that it disapear the first moment you turn your back???)
i would definitely make the art caddy tote first! i'd make it for my nephew and my niece and i know they'd love it!
Omgosh! Everything is precious!!! I'd probably start on the Art tote though because we homeschool and my car looks like there was a massive Crayola war. On the other hand, all of the randomly placed super bright color splashes where crayons melted to the seats does add a certain pop the the dull grey interior...
(I tweeted & FB liked/shared)
I would make the owl for my niece first thing. She was an owl for Halloween (in our own version of the owl costume y'all posted before).
Dodie and her mom (my sister) LOVE owls!
I shared your giveaway on Facebook. Second on my list would be the bird for my daughter Kelly's room.
I tweeted your giveaway! Third project would be the crayon roll I think. Not sure! I might use the owl pattern for a t-shirt applique instead!
I tweeted about this! Hope to WIN some AWESOME patterns from GingerCake! Thanks!
I "liked" your give away on Facebook! ~ Stacy
I would love to make the Lola Owl pillow for my daughter's room :)
I let my 2 year old daughter (who loves fabric almost as much as I do) check out the patterns and she wants the Katie bird. Now I guess I'd better win!
I would make the Crayon Art Folio for all the little 5 year olds that I know, as their Christmas gift. Then I would make the owl pillow for my little girls room cause it is just too cute :)
i love the notebook slipcover. it would make my organization attractive!
The Lola Owls are adorable! I would start with that baby for my baby.
So I have a ton of friends whos kids are just getting to school age and I think the Love Your Lunch Box pattern would be fun for a going to school gift, and of course I want to be the most stylish mom and make one for me that I can take to work that everyone will be jealous of!
This would be so great for Christmas presents! The art caddy is too cute!
My grandson wants the lunch box so he can help make it and take his lunch to school. I also adore the art caddy. Well everything is cute.
WOW I need to make more room now for more crafts.
I'd start with the Lola Owl... it's so adorable!
I'd make the crayon art folio for all my little nieces and nephews.
LOVE this! Can hardly pick a fav! The owl is too cute! Although I would truly love to make each thing!!
Love, love, love those patterns!
I wish I won the giveaway.
Thank you so much!
Cheers
Maria
Holy Cow I just re-read this and realised its for ALL the patterns. I totally thought it was just for one... now I want to win more than ever. What an amazing giveaway. Thanks Prudent Baby and Gingercake
I love these! I'm would make the owl and bird pillows for sure - they look easy enough for a total newbie, plus they'd be adorable in my girls' room. Love.
I would make the art caddy for my daughter Claudia but my daughter Laura likes the lunch bag. My baby would like the bird, my two year old would like the Owl and I think my four year old Mateo would like the duffel bag. Heck I need to make them all!!!
I would start with the art caddy for my son... then I would get max the owl just because he is awesome. Then I would get the luncbox because my son needs a new one badly. Then I would get that katie bird pillow because I love it.
My fingers are crossed!!
I'd begin with making the owl pillow for my best friend's nursery -- she's pregnant with her first right now!! Then the art caddy tote for myself! ;)
I love the lunch box but my dear son would love the Crayon Art Folio much more.
He is such my Mr. drawing/crafting man.
Bwahahah! Getaway duffle all for meeeeee!
I'd like to say that I'd make Max the Owl for my daughter, or the Art Caddy for my nephew, or some other selfless gesture... but let's be honest. I've got my eye on the Getaway Duffel for little old me. :)
I would start with the art caddy tote for each of the kids for christmas! In fact, I think I'll do that anyway! thanks for having a comp open to international readers!
"Love your Lunch Box"...
I've been looking for the perfect pattern to make two lunch boxes for my cousins who are about to start school in January. This would be the pattern. :)
Janel
I have been window shopping at Fabric Worm, coming up with fabrics I want to use to make these with - can't wait !
I would make an art caddy tote for all my crafty girlfriends followed by the notepad cover for each of them to put into their art caddy tote. And maybe one for me too.

Still loving Lola! I would make her for EVERYONE I know!
"liked" on FB
I'd love to make an art caddy for my almost 3 year old. However, I'd probably start with the crayon folio to get my feet wet.
I think I'd sew the notebook slipcover first-it's so cute and useful and the fabrics you chose were great! I'd also love to make the Max the Owl stuffie for a friend whose daugthers' nursery is done in a bird theme.
My daughter was looking with me this morning, and she said to pick the Owl pillow for her. I said sure, right after Mommy makes the lunch box !
ooohhhh myyy i would love any of those awesome patterns! the lunchbox is my fav! :)
We are redecorating my girls room and I would love that Owl pillow for them!
Katie Bird Pillow!!!! Ahh! I'm so excited...I'll have to buy this one if I don't win it. My baby girl's room is decorated in birds so she HAS to have this pillow...or maybe three! Love the owl too. :)
I love love love the art caddy!!!!! I would make that for my son Owen
I'd start with the crayon folio. That would be so great to take to church or the doctor's office. I'm definitely going to be making it. I also LOVE the love your lunchbox - I'll be makind that for my daughter before she starts school.
I love those patterns! I've got several plans for the Notebook slipcovers!!! I have a new Kindle and I have to keep him well dressed.
Ok I would certainly use ALL of them! They are super cute and fun! I REALLY hope I WIN! ;)
I like all the patterns but I would probably start with the crayon art folio. I have some nieces/cousins who would love these. This would also be a great project to make for an orphanage in Mozambique we support.
They're all so cute! I would make the lunchbox for my older son, but not until I had finished the On the Go Organizer for me!
Thank you so much Prudent Baby for getting me hooked on sewing!
I need to make the notebook covers for Christmas gifts!
www.littleladiesteatime.com
In LOVE with Lola:)
My eldest daughter does art everywhere - the kitchen, her bedroom, the car, church, school - she even draws in the condensation on the side of the shower. She DESPERATELY needs an Art Caddy!
I liked this on facebook. And I would love to make my kids Max the owl.they are a little obsessed with owls! And I would love to make the getaway duffle!
The Love Your Lunch Box pattern would be perfect for my little girl who started school this year. Thanks for a wonderful giveaway.
I'd definitely start with the notebook slipcover - for myself!
I'm thinking Max the Owl- he's adorable!
They are all so cute! I'd make the lola owls for my two daughters... I just made them owl-print dresses so these would be perfect!
barbwong@sbcglobal.net

I think I'd sew the notebook slipcover first-it's so cute and useful and the fabrics you chose were great! I'd also love to make the Max the Owl stuffie for a friend whose daugthers' nursery is done in a bird theme.
Let's see for another entry, I would make me and my girls a set of lola pillows, and a lunch box or two for gifts. The notebook slipcovers would make great christmas gifts!
Love all the patterns but I think I would have to choose the sweet art tote. I have several little "artists in the making" that would get them for Christmas!
I would start with the Art Caddy - my girls need it for sure!
3rd entry, so we're at:
1) Art Caddy
2) Owl Pillows
3) Notebook Cover
:-)
*hugs*

My 2-year-old saw the Katie Bird Pillow picture and fell in love. Guess that moves to the top of the list!
I think I've got my fabrics all picked out for the love your lunchbox - does she have a pattern to find the time to do it (HA!)
max the owl is too too cute! i would make those for each of my two boys! and i loooove the art caddy, i would definately be attempting that one next! these are adorable, i hope i win! its so much easier to sew with instructions :)
I have 2 daughters and a son, and it is often hard to find things to make for my son that are not babyish or girly (why has no-one created patterns around an 'A-Team' theme? I would be all over that!). However, now that he is in kindergarten, he is very interested in writing 'the kindergarten way' and in drawing, so the CRAYON ART FOLIO would be perfect! In a very manly print. And he would really like it to have Sharpies instead on crayons, b/c he's obsessed with those. But either way, this project would be just right for my little Mr T.
I would make the Love Your Lunch Box pattern first for my eco-friendly teenager Persephone. She hates waste and I would probably try to use some funky teen fabric or even upcycle some fabric from her too small clothes.
A Lola Owl for each of my girls, and a Crayon Art Folio for my youngest. Very cute stuff and awesome giveaway!
I am still in hi hopes that I will WIN! This is my entry for today! Gotta enter each day for a btter chance at being chosen! Again I would certainly use ALL of these patterns for Christmas gifts! YAY!

So I really want the duffel bag, but I LOVE those owl pillows. I have to make a quilt my my daughter so I could make those pillows and use the pattern for the quilt too!
I love all the patterns - so practical, functional and really cute! I'd start with the "Waste Free Lunch Bag", cuz I need to be more eco-conscious and have less trash. Then I'd make a few notebook covers, and really get into the getaway duffle.

I seriously want to win. These are some of the cutest things I've seen recently, and I'd love to make them...ALLLLL!!
The art crayon folio and art caddy tote patterns are my favorites by far, but I love the whole site, thanks for letting us in on another wonderful site. I think that vintage roll holder is destined for my Thanksgiving table!
WOW - I would love to make the art caddy tote for my son who loves to color in various places around the house. I'd probably follow that up with the love your lunchbox in a few variations for my sisters... they are too cute!
Wow! First off, I love them all! So first things first, I really want to make the dinner roll holder for my sister-in-law since she is hosting our thanksgiving dinner this year and I know she would love it! Then I will definitely make a couple of lola's for my cousin because she loves owls. Then I would move on to the notebook slipcover for my cousin (she is in high school) because she loves to have her stuff personalized and unique. Ooh, then I will definitely make a couple of little crayon art folio's! One for my son as a take-along activity on-the-go and for my friend's son who is also 3 because he is such a little artist! Love it! can't wait! :-D
I liked you :)
I'd do the Art Caddy Tote for Christmas gifts.
I think I'd sew the notebook slipcover first-it's so cute and useful and the fabrics you chose were great! I'd also love to make the Max the Owl stuffie for a friend whose daugthers' nursery is done in a bird theme.
Thank you Virginia! I bought the artfolio pattern from you a few days ago and used a couple of vintage prints and am ready to make the second one tomorrow! The twins are going to love it for their birthday present on Saturday! Her directions are clear and precise, and she is right. Once you make the first one, you realize that you can whip out a dozen in no time!
Love me some LOLA! I would make her first for myself and my kids:)

So my husband and I have been discussing vacation options for our annual vacation so now I am totally excited to make a Getaway Duffle to pack my stuff up in! Can't wait to see who wins.
I super love these patterns! I have the lunch box already and have made so many of them for gifts and everyone absolutely loves them. I would be so excited if I won the rest of her patterns!!!
I NEED the "On the Go Organizer" but I WANT the "Max the Owl." I feel so conflicted.
Still want to make the crayon folio, bad!
Im not giving up - I want to win - here is my entry for today :)

These are wonderful!!!! I know I could do something with these patterns and it would turn out AMAZING!
I love the old fashioned hot roll warmer (and its a free tutorial!). My mother badly needs one, in a nice blue and white "china" pattern, with the hot rolls already in it. Although that might be hard to arrange for Christmas morning.
I would love to make the art caddy for myngirls and niece, but since I am new tomsewinf I think I would start with the art folio. I would love to try the lunch bag!
