Mexico City Inspiration
COLOR! FAMILY! ART! PASSION! HISTORY! The locals call it DF, short for Distrito Federal. From the upscale Colonio Polanco to the Art Deco architecture of the Condessa to the canals at Xochimilco to Diego Rivera's studio to the Coyoacan markets to the beaux arts Colonio Roma to the Zocalo in the historic center...I could go on forever about the special charms of every nook and cranny of the world's largest city. I can't wait until Scarlet is a little older and we can go back with her. Before she came along, after our third pregnancy loss, my husband and I were worn and battered and needed a jolt to our systems; laying on the beach wallowing in cocktails didn't seem like the thing to do. So we picked up and took off to Mexico City for a long weekend; we returned renewed. The city reverberates with activity and overflows with riches of art & architecture; it zings and inspires. And, bonus: it's really inexpensive to travel in style! Here are some bright and cheery DF pictures to inspire a vibrant yet cozy home this season! If you want more, definitely check out ABCDF.
