FABRIC FRIDAY!
These little Daiwabo Tip Top Elephants are a true favorite of mine. They even made an appearance at Quinn's 2nd Birthday Party! To enter for a chance to win a yard of the Navy (swoon) tell us your favorite thing you did with your peanut this week (yes, boyfriends, doggies, and best friends count!)
Leave your comment anytime between now and next Friday, August 26th. Tweet, stumble, or share on facebook and leave another comment letting us know. Come back every day for new entries. We'll randomly select a winner and announce right here next Friday.
And did we mention that all Japanese imports are 15% off this week at Fabricworm? It. is. true.
Find out who won last week's Fabric Friday after the jump...
The winner of a yard of Storyboek Whale Watch Shroom is...
Crunchy Con Mommy said... My favorite is probably the Winnie the Pooh books, but my son's favorite right now is the surprisingly boy-friendly "Cuddle". A little boy in it talks about why it wouldn't work to hug a bunch of wild animals like "If I cuddled a tiger, I'd end up as dinner!" and the illustrations are cute. I definitely recommend it!
Congrats! Go ahead and use the contact form to send us your address and Fabricworm will send off your prize!
Good luck everyone!

This week was my eldest daughters first week of 1st grade. She wanted to be a big girl now and get her hair done. She picked out the haircut and I even let her get pink highlites in her hair. I loved spending that girl time with her at the salon and she is ms.popular at school.
Well, is this where you comment for a chance to win the elephant fabric? Anyhow, this week was super busy for me. I was busy helping one daughter prepare for her first baby's arrival any day now. I was also busy helping my youngest prepare to go off to college. busy mama
Oh, it was a good week! Hubby and I are trying for kid #1!
my second little peanut turned 1 and we had a sweet vintage birthday party for her!
Oh my baby elephants! Love it. I've been eying this for curtains for a while.
My peanut and I spend lots of time together (Daddy has a long commute...). Last night at bath time, he was eating all of his little bath toys (he's 7 months old, so you know, that's what he does). I said "Yum yum yum" in a silly voice and he cracked up. I kept going, he kept cracking up. I can't thinking of anything I'd rather hear that his little laugh.
This week my daughter and I got to spend some time with my 85 year old Grandmother who was visiting us in NC from Boston. It was wonderful!
Who doesn't love elephants? Great fabric!!! (Happy birthday, Quinn!)
this week my hubby and i got away from it all (TV, movies and interwebs that is) and played some board games. it was fun except he kicked my butt twice at scrabble! bring on the rematch!
My daughter and I had fun today practicing for her birthday party - we make cake and played with fondant. She loved sampling the extra cake we shaved off the top :-)
We made some treats for their camp couselors.
Those elephants are amazing! We've been getting ready for piano club at our house and my two year old told me she was going to play a Chopin song!!
AHHH ELEPHANTS! Forget owls and foxes... I think elephants are in now. I randomly got a TON of pink elephant stuff for my baby shower last weekend, which is particularly awesome because my husband's nursery was wallpapered with pink elephants holding red balloons. Yeah, it was the 70's.
Favorite thing I did with my fetal peanut(s) this past week? Well, I loved my baby shower-- adorable, sweet little girl things everywhere. But I think the girls' favorite thing from this week was the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup cheesecake that I'm still digesting, because they've been dancing around since we left the restaurant!
This week was spent with my little one going to the park every day and playing in the backyard!
I put my 14 month old peanut's first pair of cowboy boots on her feet this evening, which made her giggle and prance around the house. I feel the same way about many pairs of my boots, so this was far and away the best thing we've done together all week.
I LOVE these elephants!
My favorite thing that I did with my husband and three year old was going to a HUGE antique fair, and my daughter loved it :) We bought a bench for our piano!
We've had a good amount of rain this week (after 45 days of over 100 degree weather). So my three peanuts and I spent some time puddle jumping, watching all sorts of Disney goodness, and building forts...all mandatory rainy day activities. My two older ones kept rain boots on all week.
I got to see my nugget after her first day of day care =( but we had good one on one loving! She now says mama!
Best thing me and the kids did this week? Made skull & crossbones freezer paper shirts. The big reveal is tomorrow am!
Vanessa
date night with cajun food last night!
We went to the beach as a family today - one last time before school starts! I love making memories with my kiddos!
getting to chase my 8 mon. old daughter around the house--she loves to 'run' away already!
I've got 3 peanuts that keep me busy! Highlight of the week was visiting some nearby family and going to a local water park with an awesome lazy river & many fountains! Kids loved it and heck, I did too....way to beat the Texas heat!
Took my peanut to PreK this week. Didn't think I would cry, but I did as I drove home to an empty house. She loves going to school though. :)
I took my peanut to the local farmers market this week. We got to pet llamas, dogs, eat a bunch, and play with other little guys. :)
I had a picnic with my peanut by our horse pasture and we watched the horses while we ate. Such a fun lunch!
me and my little peanut made a fort is her playard and played peekaboo!
I was just scoping out this fabric last week for the upcoming baby number two's nursery!
The highlight of the week was watching my daughter interact with her memere and grand memere and show her immense joy to be around them.
I played baseball in the front yard with my 3 year old Peanut while my 10 mo. old daughter sat in the Cozy Coupe and watched! So cute! She even clapped for us!
This week was my opportunity to snuggle up with my youngest. She likes to warm up daddy's side of the bed and keep my sleeping peacefully while my husband conquers the night shift. This time she snuggled her little face right up to mine so our foreheads were touching, butterfly kisses were being given, and I was left with one nostril to breathe from. I loved every second of it.
My favorite thing was making dinner and watching a movie with my boyfriend!
I shared the love on FB too.
My "peanut" is a PUG! We spent some time at the park and running around the neighborhood. :-)
I spent two days in the hospital with preterm labor for no 2. I never felt so much joy as I did when no 1 came to visit me. It made me appreciate all the moments I have with her and made me eager to meet the new one.
I took my furry peanut (100 lb Great Pyrenees dog) for a walk at a nearby park--just the two of us. I took my human peanut baby to lunch with her great-grandmother and grandmother and me. We all share a name (either middle or first): Kathryn. :D
My 'peanut' and I both had a cold so we cuddled on the couch and giggled at the movie Tangled... It's not very often we both have a day to just snuggle up and my heart was overflowing with happiness at the extra time spent together! :)
OMG! I absolutely adore those elephants!
I worked a ton this week, so when I finally got home my furbabies were more than happy to get in my face and fight the Patriots game for my attention. My Boston was doing spazz circles and barking every time we cheered a touchdown!
My favorite thing was going to the children's museum with my little guys- to see their faces light up when they are learning is the best thing about motherhood.
Always looking for fabric that will coordinate my daughter and son! This would be awesome attached to a tank top to make a dress for daughter and a matching tie or appliqué for son!
Had a wonderful week with just my son (daughter started Pre-K) we had a fabulous time parking it up and visiting with marine life at the Texas State Aquarium!!
went to santa cruz!!
My little lady and I dropped the car off for an oil change and took the bus to our downtown park along the river where we rode on a 100 year old carousell, took a gondola ride over the waterfalls and walked to a french cafe for a late breakfast. We enjoyed eachothers company all morning (a big deal for a mom and a three year old!) A day I will be happy to reapeat in 3000 miles!
I have been following your blog for about a year now even though my little lady is only 2 weeks old! This week, in between naps and feedings, we had an excursion to the fabric store where we picked out some cute fabrics that I am going to use to make her a quilt! She did great and the ladies at the counter loved meeting her.
We took my 18 month old son to an indoor bounce house and he squealed and laughed the entire time. He loved going down the slide... Face first, over and over. :)
Haven't done it yet, but plans for a pedicure with my daughter-nut tomorrow will certainly be the highlight of my week :)
Today I took my 3 year old daughter and 8 month old son to the park - it's a good one, with teeter totters and big swings and a tall, old-school metal slide that she loves. My husband came and met us for a picnic lunch. It was the perfect summer Friday!
PS - I LOVE those Daiwabo elephants! Fingers crossed.
Had a lot of fun playing outside in our backyard with the little ones this week. :)
I shared on twitter: https://twitter.com/#!/irishmarmalade/status/104777599900856322
cute fabric, currently in the middle of sewing an outfit for my daughter who is turning 2 this weekend. :)
I loved taking my 6 year old daughter school shopping this week. And I love that she chatters non-stop mixing cartoons and books together for her own imaginary stories. Who knew that Dark Heart would be stalking us at Target today?
liked on facebook, shared on facebook
i love this fabric! this week i got a scooter to ride to and from school which starts on Tuesday...not excited about school but im definitely excited about the scooter! me and my fiance were riding it around yesterday and i got to drive...i never get to drive, so that was the highlight of my week! haha
I have two peanuts (not including hubs) and I love whenever we get to snuggle eachother in lovepiles! So fun! And my 3 yr old makes my 1 yr old giggle till he toots! And then they laugh some more...BOYS! Lol! :)
I like to go star-gazing with my little girl - she's really into it right now. :) It's been so nice and warm we've been lying on a quilt in our yard counting them as they come out. Love that fabric, I hope I win! :)

Peanut and I have been spending a lot of time in the back yard.
I love this fabric! I got the green for my daughter, and if this little peanut is a boy, this will be a must for sure!!
This week I've had so much fun reading with my daughter! Her interest in books has skyrocketed lately, and if I'm not reading to her, she is "reading" to herself! (She is 18 months!)
My little one learned a new trick this week - throwing things out of the crib. I've loved watching him get so excited as he does it!
My two-year old peanut and I are having fun making a new Prudent Baby nap mat for daycare this week. It's all kinds of pink!
I enjoyed spraying my muddy boys with a hose and hearing their squeals!
My peanut- husband and I renovated the bathroom of my mum and now it looks much better than ours ; )
But now he`s probably the very best son- in- law *hihi*!!
Sorry for my bad english : (
Have a nice birthday- party!!!
Greetings from Germany***Jojo
Three little kids just moved into our building, so we spent every morning this week outside playing with them. It is really nice since we only recently moved here and don't know anyone yet.
We used one of our last days of summer to go berry and peach picking! Loved seeing my 15 mo. little girl enjoying raspberries right off the plant! Now it's time to whip up some yummy raspberry scones!!
I took my kiddos to "Baby loves Disco" a super cute dance party for kids with a dj and crafts and watched my 2.5 year old amaze me by doing the cha cha slide. It was sooooo hilarious, im so glad i took video on my iphone.
I taught my friend how to flood icing, on elephant cookies no less!! Doing my part to share the cookie love!
This weekend I took the peanut to the beach!
My favorite thing this week has been my baby smiling at me. He's 6 weeks old and has just started giving a social smile in the last week.
Hurray! I'm so excited for the whale fabric!!
My favorite thing my 2 year old son and I did this week was dance around like animals. I found an old video called "animal action" that I remember from when I was a kid in the 80's on YouTube and we danced around to it about a bazillion times. He's a really great elephant and hilarious as a bird!
I spent the entire day Friday helping one of my very best friends and her beautiful, perfect newborn twins. I'm so proud of her and her husband for being such awesome first time parents. Having a newborn is exhausting, having two....I don't know how they do it, but they are! It's just an amazing experience to see someone you've known half of your life transition into motherhood so gracefully.
Very cute!
My peanut and I took the plane from France back to the States... it was an adventure
Took my peanuts to Snoqualmie Falls (near Seattle). My 4-year-old peanut declared it "the coolest place in the universe."
my favorite thing peanut and I did was going to a birthday party yesterday for her friends who just turned 2! She had so much fun with the water table and sandbox - outdoor parties are great fun for kids! (and I had fun visiting with the other moms)
This week we didn't do much that was out of the ordinary. I think my favorite thing was a Starbucks "date" with my 2 year old for lunch. He gets apple juice, I get iced tea and we sit outside under one of their big umbrellas and talk while we eat. It's such a sweet time!
I decorated the nursery for my first baby! I made bumper pads, a crib sheet, curtains, and now I'm working on a changing pad cover and diaper hanger. Sooo much work, but it's worth it. :D
My little peanut and I are visiting with my family in CA, and he went to the beach for the first time! He's almost 9 months, and LOVED Daddy pouring sand on his legs until he was half buried, and did NOT love the "big" waves. He had a little anxiety attack every time one came in to shore- even when my sister was by them. He thought they were coming to get her! We love love love elephants at this house- awesome fabric choice!
I took my 1yo to her very first parade! She loved and and kept saying "Wow!" through the whole thing. Her favourite was the square dancing seniors. She danced right along with them!
My peanut has been kicking me all week and I've been sewing up a storm for it ;)
I took both my peanuts to a great old engine show. There was a great craft fair going on too, and hubby got a quick spinning/weaving lesson. I might have picked up a new hobby... :)
My two year old snuggled in our big bed with my husband and I and read a book before we put her in her bed for the night. It was simple, but sweet.
I took all three kiddos to the zoo. By myself! I feel like a smashing success!
This fabric is so cute I just can't stand it! I took all three of my little peanuts (ages 6,3, and 14 months) to the beach yesterday. So much fun!
We made oatmeal butterscotch chocolate chip cookies and then ate them for breakfast the next day.
teaching him to wash dishes with me in the learning tower- he loes it, and i get my work done!
i love this elephants, i saw on CELEBRATE THE BOY in a hoodie, and love it. I want one to make a hoodie to my kids.
took my little guy to the beach
Love the elephants! It would make a great shirt for my son.
What I did with my peanut - we just started making a timeline about history, did egypt today. It amazes me how easily he learns things and how much he loves to do it! (he is only 4)
Elephants elephants and more elephants. My daughter would get a kick out of this fabric. She always gets soooo excited when she sees elephants and even funnier is watching her try to make the elephant sound.
my baby girl walked her first steps this week so we went to get her her first pair of shoes (if she is anything like her mom there will be many more to follow) the funny thing is that the brand name of the shoes we got is elephente....and it immidiatly came to mind when I saw this amazing fabric....
This week I took my LO fall clothes shopping and let her pick out a few things. She is only 1, so it basically consisted of me picking up whatever she tossed on the floor. It was a fun tradition to start though.
This week my husband and I took Clara, who's 2 and a half, peach and blueberry picking. The blueberries were just about done and it took a lot of patience to even get enough to make muffins. Plus, Clara was eating them faster than I could pick them. She was so cute though, I didn't care. The peaches were amazing. The trees were full of them. Clara was walking around with a peach in each hand. She didn't care that they were hard and not yet ripe. By the time we left, she was an awesome peachy blueberry face mess. Still cute as heck, though.
I cuddled with my son and my infant daughter.
woohoo elephants!
I took my littles to the thrift store looking for fabric and then to Chick-fil-a for lunch and play!
I took my 2 yr old twin peanuts fabric shopping with me for a new business that I'm starting. My son loves shopping so much with me he snuck in over $35 of 'Buddy wants this' merchandise in my cart! I got the fabric they picked out so they can have another 'Mommy make it' thing to play with ;).
oooh..i love these little elephants!..so cute my bestie and i headed to the beach..which was fun..
I took my daughter, now one and a half, to her friend's birthday party where she experienced a bounce house for the first time. Her emotions were equal parts joy and terror - but she wouldn't come out for an hour! She just kept picking herself up and bouncing with the big kids. I was so proud of her, and I couldn't stop laughing at the look on her face!
My hubby and I (he's my peanut) were discussing our childhood love for the Disney movie "Dumbo!" I wanted to be a zookeeper for elephants, and he had the stuffed Dumbo toy. What adorable elephant fabric! Favorite thing together this week? An impromptu walk this evening. So Saturday-ish and sweet!
My baby spent time with me by revealing that he is going to be a boy! My husband and I are very happy
Love your blog! I made a bed skirt for the little one we are expecting this fall! This fabric would be perfect for some more baby crafts :)

Love the elephant pattern! So adorable! I visited with lifelong family friends this week... always a treat!
Enjoyed watching eldest peanut (almost 2) bloom as a big sister to little peanut (4 mo). Funniest moment was catching her ever so gently placing stickers on her little sister's ear lobes and mumbling, "see beebee, ears, like me" (her ears were sporting stickers as well). Thank goodness they don't make stickers as sticky as they did in the 80's, when we drove my mom nuts putting them on non-approved surfaces with permenant results.
This week was a rough one including dr's visits and shots for my littlest punkin, but while waiting at the dr's office, my 2yr old and I played Patty cake with my 4mo old :) They laughed and laughed. They're the sweetest boys in the world!
Favorite thing? Well, tonight was pretty sweet. Three families got together for a potluck meal. The kids played while the grownups lingered over the food. Then we all headed outside with the guitars, mando and ukelele to jam and sing our lungs out while the kiddos danced. Perfection.
My 2 1/2 year old and I ran in the sprinklers!
were supposed to hit up the air and water show...but because of crazy storms, headed to Jewel, the fruit market, and Nordstrom ha :)
This week I flew to Thailand just to see my big brother for the first time in over a year! The elephant fabric seems very apt as elephants are a big thing in Thailand and there are many shrines and ornaments of them everywhere. It would be cool to make something with this fabric to remind me of this special time with my brother.
On Thursdays and Fridays I have 3 of my little ones home with me all day. This usually results in bordom and arguements so I decided to take the kids outside to run around and hopefully wear themselves out. We played running races and Piggy in the Middle. I was holding my 4 month old while playing this game and she was literally cracking up laughing. I didn't realise playing piggy in the middle could be such fun!
We rode on an airplane. My 2 1/2 yr old's mind is blown. She loved it! Afterwards she declared herself "such a good airplane rider".
Just yesterday my 7 month old and I (he's 7 months today! Happy birthday, Jack!) tagged along with Jacob (our pug) as he went to Pug-a-pool-looza! A friend of mine has a pug, 2 of her 3 daughters have pugs, and another friend of hers has a pug. So she organized a pool party for all of the pugs! Jacob even received a loot bag with doggy toys and muffins! Jack loved all of the pugs around him. It was a hoot!
ps - those elephants are simply darling. Definitely *swoon* !
My husband and I took our 3 little ones camping - that's our favorite thing to do together!
This week I went tubing on the Farmington River with my cousins who were visiting from out of state - they're the best friends a girl could ask for and we had a blast!
My peanut moved to N.C last week. I'll miss him. I showed him how to hand sew (he is 7) He threads a needle faster than I do but it's OK he does it for me. I have to tie the knots though. He made a "red rose" and attached it to a black t-shirt. He wore it proudly to a party.
Yup he's mama's boy.
My favorite thing that I did with my kids this week was to go out to breakfast with all three of them, there grandma, great-grandma and great grandpa, There great-aunt and aunt.
My husbandman heard the baby for the first time this week! That has to be a favorite moment.
This week we took a family vacation to Catalina Island and Long Beach, CA. Yesterday before we started the drive home we went to the aquarium in Long Beach, and it was awesome! My 15 month old loved watching the fish swim. We got to see sea lions, otters, sharks, rays, fish, birds, and more. My son had such a great time, and after lunch took a nice long nap!!

It was a big week in our house...1st day of Pre-k for my daughter on Wednesday! My favorite thing this week with my 2 kiddos was staying in our jammies all day Monday, playing games and baking. I'm a newly stay-at-home-mom...but with school starting I figured it might be the last time we will get to do that for a while!
My husband and I attended our fourth class out of ten in our process to become foster parents!
My 2 yr old little peanut will be starting her very first year of Preschool in a few weeks so I took her and her 2 month old little brother to do some school shopping. I let her pick out a little toy and she chose a glittery purple microphone which she has been serenading me with all week! :) It was such a fun experience going school shopping for the first time with her. She is getting so big! Plus, it was my very first outing with both kids all by myself (with the exception of Dr visits) and I think it went pretty well! That was definitely my favorite thing we did this week. :)
We hosted our first playgroup, it was so fun to watch the little ones explore and play in our backyard.
Well I got to hang with ALL of my fam at my Grandparents 60th (yes I said 60th!!!) wedding anniversary!!! My Grandpa says they dated for 6 years before they got married, how cool is that? So it was one of the best weekends Ive had in a loooong time!! :)
Anytime I get to snugglebug with my youngest daughter and read her a book, I am doing one of my favorite things.
My 20 month peanut and I took an impromptu walk after a brief rain shower - I let him take the lead and we ended up at the park! May not seem all that exciting, but we live in Tx and haven't been to the park for months due to the triple digit heat! He was so excited to be back there! We played until the steaminess drove me to head back home.
We picked fresh figs, lemons and limes from our friend's tree and a local organic farm :) Solomon loves "going to the farm"
I took my peanut to his first baseball game :)
We went to a My Morning Jacket Show - it was little Sylas's first concert - we had a lovely time!
I tweeted about this sweet giveaway as well. You can find the tweet at www.twitter.com/thededicationco
Hope you have a great week and thanks for sponsoring such a great giveaway!
I watched my 2.5 year old boy splash around in a backyard pool for the first time today...loved the smiles, giggles and bare bum!! Amber :)
Spending time with my little girl the other night just enjoying a simple family dinner with her mee-maw and paw-paw, her 2 month old little brother and her dadd! It was great to see her running around, playing, having fun, being spoiled, and getting to carry her back to bed like we did not too long ago. Though only two and half years old she's a big girl and very independent and after a great night she was exhausted and looked up at me with those baby blues and asked to be taken to bed. What a great way to end the night.
We relocated my craft room to make way for our babys room!
Visited the cloisters this week! A good adventure despite the rainy weather.
At the moment I'm enjoying my two eldest peanuts talking to Peanut #3 who's due to arrive in 4 weeks time - very cute and especially funny when there is visible movement from within!!
We went to a family retreat with our company and chaplain. It was WONDERFUL, and I learned alot about how to teach my little peanut about Christ, as well as got ALOT of family time in the gorgeous mountains!
I met up with my sister-in-law and baby niece for a mooch around the garden centre then had lunch in the cafe. My niece took great joy in decorating the cafe with mini pasta, steamed apples and fromage frais! Fun times :)
My daughter and I made perler bead necklaces when her bby brother was sleeping:) she loved the quiet time, and I enjoyed it more!!
This week my little peanut (nine weeks!), my son, and went to Texas. While I LOVE Texas, the very best part was coming back home to my husband. I handle morning sickness a lot better with him around to help me!
My favorite thing that we did this week was just as simple as spending time together having a picnic on our front lawn. My husband, nearly 6 month old, and 10 year old had a nice time just relaxing together. Our cat even came out to be near... just not too near the baby!
kirstensays(at)gmail(dot)com
My favorite part of this week was enjoying my 4 month old (TODAY!!) baby girl learn to blow raspberries with her tongue. My ultimate fave though was when she would do it on command back and forth with me! It was ADORABLE!!
Cute baby elephants! My little peanut (who will be 4 months tomorrow!) and I had a great week! We couldn't decide which blanket to make for a friend's new arrival coming soon, so we made 3! Using Prudent Baby tuts, of course! (the Simple Snuggly Baby Blanket, the Beginners Baby Blanket, and the Silky Baby Blanket) Love our sewing time together!
My favorite (&least favorite part) of the week was dropping my oldest baby off at first grade. I LOVE that she loves school & gets so excited about it, but I HATE not having her with me during the day.
I went hiking with my little man yesterday. He walked the first several hundred yards by himself, and I love seeing how into nature and animals he is. He had a blast on daddy's back going up the mountain and playing in the creek.
I LOVE this fabric, how cute!
Good Grief I want this fabric! I nearly got pregnant just because I wanted to decorate a baby room in it.
My fav thing I did with my kiddos last weekend was go swimming! It's a million degrees here!
I love the elephants! My peanut went with us to visit her auntie as she was just diagnosed with cancer. Not a happy weekend, but we had a good visit.
My baby is only 3 months old and it's been way too hot to venture outside. However it cooled off just enough last week that she and took a long walk through a local garden. It was so great to share the fresh air!
My peanut is still in my belly and I've been loving watching her move (i think she's dancing or doing gymnastics in there) all week. Still amazed by the whole process of growing a human inside my body.
Oh my goodness I LOVE this fabric. I have been so into elephant stuff since my three month old little girl got here and funny enough her nickname is peanut. This past weekend the only really fun thing we did was have family movie time since I was sick all weekend, boo.
Beautiful fabric! Here's my take-away moment of the week:
My husband taped me in our driveway pushing my 15 month old boy, Andrew, around on his tiny bike - complete with training wheels. I watched the video that night and realized that my mom has an almost identical video of her pushing me on a little bike. I felt nostalgic and had a keen awareness of being an important part of the ongoing fabric of life.
got to spend a weeks with both peanuts, after not seeing big peanut for two months since he was away working!
we took our little one(6 months old)to Holden Beach, took bunch pictures, played in water, ate ice cream.....had a great time :)
My favorite thing from this week was watching my completely impatient hubby allow our 21 month old daughter "help" him assemble our new ikea bench in our bedroom. He let her help unpack the box, turn the screw driver, hand him pieces - it was awesome! The best part is that I documented the whole thing with my camera - including the picture of the two of them smiling at each other while sitting on the freshly put together bench. It was positively priceless and the best time we have had as a family in awhile (she has been sick for weeks).
My girls and I went camping this past week. We love camping and exploring all the paths that are in the area and collecting all the pretty shiny rocks we can find. It was some nice quality time spent with them away from the tv and the computer.....
On Saturday we went to pick up my daughter from horse camp and watched her riding. She had a blast, which makes me happy. :)
We went to my friend's house and watered her garden while she was on vacation. Guin is 16 months and exploring the garden with her was just so much fun. When she got tired, I picked a cucumber, rinsed it off with the hose, and handed it to her. She sat on this little wooden stool munching away while I finished watering. I wish I could hold that moment forever.

My grandmother just visited for a week, and I got such joy in seeing her enjoy her great-grandchildren. She flew on a plane for the first time at age 83 to come out and see them. My kids are so lucky and loved, they have 6 grandparents and three great grandparents still with us.
It was my 7yo's first day of school - second grade already! We celebrated by going out to frozen yogurt after dinner.
if the 4 year old boy I babysit for counts as a "peanut" then the best thing about my week was when he asked if I would play mermaids with him when we got home from school. i love playing mermaids
It was about a week ago mow, but I just gave my two boys a bath together for the first time. It was beyond adorable. My older son is so careful and gentle and loving of his baby brother, and the baby is so looking up to his big brother all ready. He held onto him for support the whole time. It was so cute!
I threw a swim party for my 6 year old son in the lake by our house. Easiest party ever!
I spent the week with my husband decorating the nursery for our soon-to-be peanut by hanging some homemade artwork!
My peanut (boyfriend) and I went blackberry picking around our neighborhood this weekend. The weather was perfect and we got a massive bowl full! The look on his face as he took a bite of fresh-from-the-oven blackberry/apple crumble was worth every scratch and yellow jacket near-miss!
I have three peanuts...but this week it was all about our puppy Charlotte.....we took her out for extra time in the park and the boardwalk....got some new toys...but best of all I decided to postpone her surgery for spaying.. I love seeing her happy and i just didnt want to ruin such a great week.....She completes the family with her jovial personality :)
This weekend my fetal peanut and I started moving my craft room into another room to make way for her nursery!
Last night we played on the floor for quite a bit. She is *just* on the verge of crawling / taking off into mischief!
My favorite was sleeping in my own bed again after vacation with my peanut husband. (He's not a peanut, but you know what i mean!)
ecisley(at)comcast(dot)net
My little buddy and I went to the park one morning this week. He's only 9 months old, so we just used the swings. There is one that I can sit in with him on my lap, so after the novelty of the toddler swing wore off, we settled in to the big red one. I expected him to tire of this quickly, but he rested his head on my chest. I sang silly songs to him and thought he was asleep, only to look down to find him smiling and looking up at me. It was a magical moment, especially since my schedule has had me missing him quite a bit lately and 8 months seemed to be a hard age for him. :)
My favorite thing was taking my 4 month old peanut to the beach! First vacation! Woot!
My oldest peanut started middle school yesterday. Best moment this week thus far, was helping him organize his binder for all his classes and talking about school lunches.
My favorite thing this week was channeling my inner Cake Boss when I made a Minnie Mouse birthday cake for my 2 year old ... and hearing her excited, "My Mimmi! My Mimmi!" when she saw it. Yes, you *can* mold Rice Krispies treats into mouse ears. Ha!
Oh goodness....I get to stay home with my baby girl everyday so I have so many moments BUT one of them was watching her progress in walking this week. She's been in PT since January and now she's almost 2. It's been a long road but we are hoping and praying for a free-walking two year old :)
How precious! We are actually using elephants in the boys' room this time around!!
I just got put on bedrest with new baby Peanut, so the most fun I had with 2 year old Peanut was snuggling on the sofa watching episode after episode of Choo-Choos. He's mesmerized and doesn't notice all the sugar I steal... :)
The best thing I did with my peanut this week was taking her to visit my parents and taking her for a swim in their pool. She is such a little fish! I have never seen a one-year-old try so hard to swim on her own! :)

Where to start? Getting one-on-one time with each of the six kiddos is tough, but I managed it in the last few days. :) That is pretty cool.
My favorite thing that I did with my peanut this week was listen to her heartbeat... We have another two weeks before we get to meet her in person, so in the meantime our favorite activities as a family are listening to her heart beat, and playing tag with my moving belly!
Oh and I can imagine a million cute outfits to be made with this fabric! =)
My youngest peanut started 1st grade this week. Even though he was excited to attend Big Boy School, he still held my hand as we walked to the bus stop. (that warmed my heart)
This week I took a 4 hour drive with both children (23 months and 5 months) to the beach SOLO for the first time. Had to stop twice on the way to the beach. Only stopped once on the way home!!! It was a success!
Elephants! We've been home sick for the past few days, reading books suggested last week.
my favorite thing i did with my someone special this week was not that extraordinary. I've been super busy at work so when I did get home at a reasonable hour, I changed into my pajamas and sat and ate cotton candy on the couch with him and watched tv. It was amazingly restorative!
My lil peanut had her first trip to the mall. She will be six weeks old on Saturday and we did not know we were having a girl....So after my postpartum check up we stopped at the mall to get our fix of pink!!!
Let's see my favorite thing this week..hhhmm....watching her spend time with her daddy :)
I haven't done much with my furry peanut lately. He's got a tumor (inoperable), so he spends most of the time sleeping. Doesn't mind being petted and scratched though
This week with my lil Peanuts has been a really busy one! I work full time, so it makes my afternoons jam packed. I finished painting my sons room, FINALLY! its all a tan color, but one wall has Univ. of Alabama colored striped on it (not easy to do on textured walls!) and the other wall I painted chalkboard paint in a HUGE square on it and framed it with Door framing. He is in loveeee with his room now!! He wants to spend all his time in there now being a Jr. artist haha! we also built my daughters playhouse this week, every afternoon all she wants to do it go up and down the slide! She stands at the backdoor and keeps saying Mommma, Momma until we go out! lol She's only a year old by the way.
This week I took some time away from regular tasks and did something special to make summer memories with my peanuts. We went Geo-caching. My son found it on line and researched all the sites in our area. He and his sister picked the ones we were going to visit, then we put the co-ordinates into the GPS and set out on a cool adventure! Some we found some we didn't but it was a fun bush whacking adventure with my little ones, before they are too old to be seen with me!
my peanut (6 months) tried avocado for the first time this week... which btw, also makes for a lovely body and facial mask which is pretty much how the feeding went for both me and baby! learning to eat together has been good fun. :)
Hubby and I had a great dinner at home on Tuesday. I'm not a fish lover but he is so I pan fried some cod and we had tortellini and garlic bread. Actually pretty yummy if I say so myself! We've got #1 on the way so I love stealing these evenings alone while we can!
We (husband and me) made a big girl bed-a full size daybed with storage beneath-for our younger one, turned out awesome and made for a very happy 2year old! Plus, we let big sis 'help' , so she very proudly tells that to everyone!
this week we escaped the heat and went swimming!!!
My 2 year old daughter and I decided to do some spontaneous baking (her request), and as she and my kitchen were getting increasingly covered in brownie batter, I told her that I was really looking forward to baking Christmas cookies with her this year. She stopped her stirring, threw both arms around me, and beamed up at me saying "Mommy, I love you SO much! We make a good team!" I couldn't agree more. ;0)
My son and I have enjoyed reading together since he was born. Now that he is a "big" (in his mind at least) 18 months old, he has to read by himself sometimes. Our current favorite book is "Quick as a Cricket". We curl up on the sofa and I read it to him. Then, he takes that great big book on his little peanut sized lap and "reads" it to me. I love listening to him try to talk in sentences :)
The temperatures dropped to a wonderful and almost cool level, so we spent some time outdoors yesterday.
We went for a walk on the mountains on the alps.
My favorite thing I did with my "peanut" (my husband) was watch our car die. I hated that car;)
My 3 month old Peanut is trying to crawl! She laughed out loud and rolled over! Big week!
This week was my baby(*cough* - I mean "toddler")'s second birthday. He even tried blowing out the candles on his own. It's bittersweet and lovely to watch him grow up.
I have 2 peanuts, and we went with Daddy to meet my 3 year old peanut's preschool teacher. I think my 1 year old wishes she were starting preschool too.

With the cooler temps earlier in the week, we walked to the fish pond to feed the fish, then on the way back made a pit stop at the playground. It was definitely a stop and smell the roses kind of morning! A good thing for me before starting the school year back up.
On Sunday my son fell on broken glass and severed a tendon and nerve in his hand. On Tuesday he had surgery. It was hands down the most terrifying two days in my 19 months as a parent. But the best part of the week was seeing him wake up from the anesthesia and say "hi guys" and blow kisses. For this I took him to the toy store today to buy him his first trike. He was beside himself with joy and we spent this whole afternoon circling the block on his trike. I would happily do that with him everyday for the rest of my life.
My peanut (my boyfriend) and I spent last weekend treating ourselves to an amazing dinner on Saturday night, and touring Alcatraz and Angel Island on Sunday. We spend most of our time away from each other because I live on the East coast and he lives on the West, and last weekend was my last weekend in California (I spent the summer there), so it was a really lovely memory before I left. Here's to hoping I win some fabric to make pillows for our future home together!
