FABRIC FRIDAY!

These little Daiwabo Tip Top Elephants are a true favorite of mine. They even made an appearance at Quinn's 2nd Birthday Party! To enter for a chance to win a yard of the Navy (swoon) tell us your favorite thing you did with your peanut this week (yes, boyfriends, doggies, and best friends count!)
Leave your comment anytime between now and next Friday, August 26th. Tweet, stumble, or share on facebook and leave another comment letting us know. Come back every day for new entries. We'll randomly select a winner and announce right here next Friday.

And did we mention that all Japanese imports are 15% off this week at Fabricworm? It. is. true.

Find out who won last week's Fabric Friday after the jump...

The winner of a yard of Storyboek Whale Watch Shroom is...

Crunchy Con Mommy said...  My favorite is probably the Winnie the Pooh books, but my son's favorite right now is the surprisingly boy-friendly "Cuddle". A little boy in it talks about why it wouldn't work to hug a bunch of wild animals like "If I cuddled a tiger, I'd end up as dinner!" and the illustrations are cute. I definitely recommend it!

Congrats! Go ahead and use the contact form to send us your address and Fabricworm will send off your prize!

Good luck everyone!

This week was my eldest daughters first week of 1st grade. She wanted to be a big girl now and get her hair done. She picked out the haircut and I even let her get pink highlites in her hair. I loved spending that girl time with her at the salon and she is ms.popular at school.

Oh my baby elephants! Love it. I've been eying this for curtains for a while.

My peanut and I spend lots of time together (Daddy has a long commute...). Last night at bath time, he was eating all of his little bath toys (he's 7 months old, so you know, that's what he does). I said "Yum yum yum" in a silly voice and he cracked up. I kept going, he kept cracking up. I can't thinking of anything I'd rather hear that his little laugh.

AHHH ELEPHANTS! Forget owls and foxes... I think elephants are in now. I randomly got a TON of pink elephant stuff for my baby shower last weekend, which is particularly awesome because my husband's nursery was wallpapered with pink elephants holding red balloons. Yeah, it was the 70's.

Favorite thing I did with my fetal peanut(s) this past week? Well, I loved my baby shower-- adorable, sweet little girl things everywhere. But I think the girls' favorite thing from this week was the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup cheesecake that I'm still digesting, because they've been dancing around since we left the restaurant!

This week was my opportunity to snuggle up with my youngest. She likes to warm up daddy's side of the bed and keep my sleeping peacefully while my husband conquers the night shift. This time she snuggled her little face right up to mine so our foreheads were touching, butterfly kisses were being given, and I was left with one nostril to breathe from. I loved every second of it.

This week my husband and I took Clara, who's 2 and a half, peach and blueberry picking. The blueberries were just about done and it took a lot of patience to even get enough to make muffins. Plus, Clara was eating them faster than I could pick them. She was so cute though, I didn't care. The peaches were amazing. The trees were full of them. Clara was walking around with a peach in each hand. She didn't care that they were hard and not yet ripe. By the time we left, she was an awesome peachy blueberry face mess. Still cute as heck, though.

I took my daughter, now one and a half, to her friend's birthday party where she experienced a bounce house for the first time. Her emotions were equal parts joy and terror - but she wouldn't come out for an hour! She just kept picking herself up and bouncing with the big kids. I was so proud of her, and I couldn't stop laughing at the look on her face!

Enjoyed watching eldest peanut (almost 2) bloom as a big sister to little peanut (4 mo). Funniest moment was catching her ever so gently placing stickers on her little sister's ear lobes and mumbling, "see beebee, ears, like me" (her ears were sporting stickers as well). Thank goodness they don't make stickers as sticky as they did in the 80's, when we drove my mom nuts putting them on non-approved surfaces with permenant results.

Though only two and half years old she's a big girl and very independent and after a great night she was exhausted and looked up at me with those baby blues and asked to be taken to bed. There is one that I can sit in with him on my lap, so after the novelty of the toddler swing wore off, we settled in to the big red one. I expected him to tire of this quickly, but he rested his head on my chest. I sang silly songs to him and thought he was asleep, only to look down to find him smiling and looking up at me. It was a magical moment, especially since my schedule has had me missing him quite a bit lately and 8 months seemed to be a hard age for him. :)

I haven't done much with my furry peanut lately. He's got a tumor (inoperable), so he spends most of the time sleeping. Doesn't mind being petted and scratched though

This week with my lil Peanuts has been a really busy one! I work full time, so it makes my afternoons jam packed. I finished painting my sons room, FINALLY! its all a tan color, but one wall has Univ. of Alabama colored striped on it (not easy to do on textured walls!) and the other wall I painted chalkboard paint in a HUGE square on it and framed it with Door framing. He is in loveeee with his room now!! He wants to spend all his time in there now being a Jr. artist haha! we also built my daughters playhouse this week, every afternoon all she wants to do it go up and down the slide! She stands at the backdoor and keeps saying Mommma, Momma until we go out! lol She's only a year old by the way.

This week I took some time away from regular tasks and did something special to make summer memories with my peanuts. We went Geo-caching. My son found it on line and researched all the sites in our area. He and his sister picked the ones we were going to visit, then we put the co-ordinates into the GPS and set out on a cool adventure! Some we found some we didn't but it was a fun bush whacking adventure with my little ones, before they are too old to be seen with me!

my peanut (6 months) tried avocado for the first time this week... which btw, also makes for a lovely body and facial mask which is pretty much how the feeding went for both me and baby! learning to eat together has been good fun. :)

Hubby and I had a great dinner at home on Tuesday. I'm not a fish lover but he is so I pan fried some cod and we had tortellini and garlic bread. Actually pretty yummy if I say so myself! We've got #1 on the way so I love stealing these evenings alone while we can!

We (husband and me) made a big girl bed-a full size daybed with storage beneath-for our younger one, turned out awesome and made for a very happy 2year old! Plus, we let big sis 'help' , so she very proudly tells that to everyone!

My 2 year old daughter and I decided to do some spontaneous baking (her request), and as she and my kitchen were getting increasingly covered in brownie batter, I told her that I was really looking forward to baking Christmas cookies with her this year. She stopped her stirring, threw both arms around me, and beamed up at me saying "Mommy, I love you SO much! We make a good team!" I couldn't agree more. ;0)

My son and I have enjoyed reading together since he was born. Now that he is a "big" (in his mind at least) 18 months old, he has to read by himself sometimes. Our current favorite book is "Quick as a Cricket". We curl up on the sofa and I read it to him. Then, he takes that great big book on his little peanut sized lap and "reads" it to me. I love listening to him try to talk in sentences :)

This week was my baby(*cough* - I mean "toddler")'s second birthday. He even tried blowing out the candles on his own. It's bittersweet and lovely to watch him grow up.

I have 2 peanuts, and we went with Daddy to meet my 3 year old peanut's preschool teacher. I think my 1 year old wishes she were starting preschool too.

With the cooler temps earlier in the week, we walked to the fish pond to feed the fish, then on the way back made a pit stop at the playground. It was definitely a stop and smell the roses kind of morning! A good thing for me before starting the school year back up.

On Sunday my son fell on broken glass and severed a tendon and nerve in his hand. On Tuesday he had surgery. It was hands down the most terrifying two days in my 19 months as a parent. But the best part of the week was seeing him wake up from the anesthesia and say "hi guys" and blow kisses. For this I took him to the toy store today to buy him his first trike. He was beside himself with joy and we spent this whole afternoon circling the block on his trike. I would happily do that with him everyday for the rest of my life.

My peanut (my boyfriend) and I spent last weekend treating ourselves to an amazing dinner on Saturday night, and touring Alcatraz and Angel Island on Sunday. We spend most of our time away from each other because I live on the East coast and he lives on the West, and last weekend was my last weekend in California (I spent the summer there), so it was a really lovely memory before I left. Here's to hoping I win some fabric to make pillows for our future home together!
