Bias Tape Maker Video What What!

After I posted the How To Make Bias Tape Tutorial y'all expressed some curiosity about the magical machine, so I thought I'd show it off.  Can you sense my enthusiasm?  Check the video to see how it works, then try to stop yourself from buying one here: Simplicity Bias Tape Maker.  $68 bucks.  If you use bias tape it'll pay for itself after like two quilts or some tops, or art smocks, or baby dresses, or mommy dresses, or oven mitts, or swaddle blankets, or whatever you can dream up. Or don't, you can totally come over and borrow mine.

oh my gosh!!! I really need one of those!!! I cut and iron my bias tape by hand as I need custom stuff for my hand painted handbag business. This will save me heaps of time. Just need to sell 3 handbags first then I can get one!!!

I'm adding that to my wish list!! The other day I became so enthused about bias tape and my husband looked at me like I was crazy. He'll think I'm even crazier when I show him this video and tell him I want one!! :)

Ok wait wait! I Know super tempting BUT you can get a little tiny tool in the quilting section at JoAnn's (or any sewing store I'm sure!) that is like under $10 and you use your iron. Same concept just run the iron behind the little tool that folds each side of your bias tape under! here is a link...

my husband just watched this video and thinks I should clarify that i am saying "I love you TINY machine" not "I love you China machine". which would be a really weird thing to say.

My mom showed me this in a Catalog last week, and I saw it at JoAnn's 2 days ago (though it is $109 at the JoAnn's here.
It is a thing of beauty, though! : )

Wow! I have to have that! I just made my own bias tape for the first time for the top of a slip nightgown, where the bias tape turned into the straps. It was pretty easy to make, but this will save so much time in the future. Can't wait to get it! Thanks for the video!

Has anyone had a problem with needing to iron the bias tape after making it? It just isn't as crisp as I thought it would be when it comes out of the machine....but I still love my machine!!! I can't wait to get different sized tips so I can make more sizes!!!!!

Hey Kim! Bummer! No, I haven't had that problem at all! I've always been impressed with how sharp the creases are. If it's not too old, Id try to exchange for a new one! Maybe it's a lemon?
