Butterfly Marshmallows
1. Whip up a batch of marshmallows using this recipe posted earlier:
but instead of coffee extract, add a teaspoon of vanilla. For pure white marshmallows, use clear vanilla. You can also add food coloring if you want.
2. While those are whipping, make some colored sugar. Add a cup of sugar and a few drops of gel food coloring into your food processor:
And blend to make a finer sugar which is great for decorating.
3. This time we want to make the marshmallow a little thinner so I used two pans. Cover with plastic wrap, coat with cooking spray, and generously sprinkle your colored sugar all around, shaking to make sure it covers the sides.
Pour your marshmallow in and coat with more sugar. Reserve the sugar.
Cover and let your marshmallow sit for at least four hours or preferably overnight.
4. Remove your marshmallow sheet onto a cutting board and grab some cookie cutters. Cut out your shapes:
Dip them in the reserved colored sugar to coat all sides, which will make them pretty and also remove the stickiness.
Eat every single remaining scrap and then go buy new, bigger pants.
yum!
I'm going to wrap them in cello bags for scarlet's school friends!

Well, doesn't that look simply amazing! I could make those every day! (The shopping for new pants I'll just have to put up with I guess ;)
SO cute. I have the distinct feeling that if I made those, they would not last long enough to actually photograph!
